I groan softly and come up behind her, rubbing her sides and then bending down to bite her throat. She gasps and Nick takes care of her mouth, kissing her and swallowing the less than innocent sound she makes.
Sophie rubs herself between us until we release her, then looks at Roman and Holden. Holden motions her forward and she goes with a bounce, whispering something in his ear that I can’t make out.
Considering he tangles his tongue with hers and grabs her ass, I’m sure it’s a dirty promise of what we can have tonight, tomorrow, forever.
God, forever sounds really good when Sophie’s involved. So does retirement, actually. But I think I’d go insane from lack of work too quickly. It’s another question for later. And since we have the time, there’s no need to rush.
Except when it comes to getting a ring to put on Sophie’s finger.
SOPHIE
We have a blissful week. Full of sex, fun, and plenty to do. Even working from home doesn’t bother me when I have the guys spending so much time at the house. I noticed that Gunner was late one day, but other than that, they’ve been devoted to being home on time.
It’s almost suspicious. By Friday, all their secretive looks are getting to me. I set my fork down at dinner and cross my hands under my chin. “What’s going on?”
Gunner glances up at the question, swallows his food, and gets another bite. “What do you mean, sweets?”
I look between them and catch the look they share. I point at them. “That! Right there!”
“You’ll find out soon enough,” Nick promises.
I narrow my eyes. “If you’re planning another surprise trip, I’m going to say no, so you might as well come out with it.”
“Just a surprise on what we’re doing this weekend.” Holden insists.
I try my best glare, but Roman’s hand soothes my thigh. I huff and stab at my food. “I’m serious about the trip thing.”
“Then how does Paris sound in two months?” Roman asks. “We can spend a while there as long as we manage to get some work done.”
I consider that. I would love to see Paris. At night, during the day, it’s like a fantasy. So I give in with a nod and spend the rest of the night researching different places and talking with Nick – who’s already been there – about places we should go.
Then Saturday rolls around and we spend the day being lazy, despite the charge to the air. When Gunner drags himself up from bed, he picks me up, spins me around, and kisses me hard. I moan and nearly lose myself in his kiss.
When he finally sets me down, he beams. “Excited for tonight?”
“I don’t know what tonight is,” I say. “Anyone going to clue me in?”
“A good night,” Nick says, flipping the magazine he’s going through with a smile I can’t place.
“I’m left out again,” I grumble.
“You’ll like the surprise,” Roman promises, gently patting my ass. When I don’t answer, he turns the full force of his dark eyes on me, making me vibrate with love and warmth. “You will, Bambina.”
And that’s all I get until I’m told to dress up in my best. I almost choose work clothes, just to tease them, but settle for a corset style white dress that comes down to my knees in a little poof of a skirt. I do my makeup, make sure my curls are under control, then step into some heels that I can manage just about anywhere.
They insist on all of us going to dinner, and then for a romantic walk through a lush greenhouse. And we’re all alone with lights all strung up and a bubbling creek. I know they must have pulled some strings which makes it all the more special that they’d do it for me.
“This is …like the garden of Eden.” I gaze at the mix of trees and flowering plants. The floral scents in the air mingle and change as we walk through the huge garden and I can’t stop my smile even though the guys are still acting shifty.
“It’s apple free.” Gunner promises. “But full of temptation.”
“We’re not doing anything naughty here,” I say clearly. “People or not, I don’t want to ruin it.”
All the guys chuckle and redirect before I can ask any follow-up questions. We talk about nothing and we talk about the future, Holden points out different species of plants and the poisonous ones. I free my hand to look at some of the labels of plants and fall in love with the gentle colors and full blooms.
I turn around to ask how long we have here and find that Roman and I are left alone. I don’t know how it happened. I just know that it’s the two of us under blue lights with thick tropical plants around us.
“Where did everyone go?”
