“Oh yeah. Because that’s ... that’s the only thing that would benefit from a break with you.” My back arches.
Lief nips my throat, then lets me go. I pout. “Lief.”
“We have a whole meal to take care of, viper. If we finish everything, I promise to give you the first taste of dessert.”
“Only if I’m licking it off you.” I tap his chest, then trail my fingers down to the top of his boxers. “Also, if we do another family thing, we’re getting a caterer.”
He grins and shoves me slightly.
Once we’re done and Hunter comes down to tell me that I’m just overthinking my paper and it feels complete and I address all the questions I raise, I realize I haven’t seen Chase. Hunter catches me. “Chase is fine. He’s running an errand.”
“That errand?” Lief asks.
Hunter grins. “He offered, I figured it didn’t make much sense for us to go separately.”
“Fair point.”
“What errand!” I ask. “Is it dangerous? If he’s out there on his own with a gun aimed at him-”
“God you’re sexy when you’re protective,” Hunter growls. “A sexy, vicious almost doctor. How did we get so lucky, Lief?”
But I see the blatant lust in Lief’s eyes. “Lucky. But let’s remind her why she stays.”
“I stay because I love you both. Keep it in your pants.”
“That’s not what you wanted in the kitchen, viper.” Lief reminds me, rubbing over my side.
“You two, stop distracting. I want to know where my missing boyfriend is.”
Hunter kisses my neck. “He’s pulling off a very dangerous heist.”
“Requires expert timing,” Lief agrees. “and excellent sleight of hand.”
I glare at them both as they laugh. Hunter tosses me to Lief and takes off his shirt, instantly stealing my focus. No, no. I clearly need to find Chase. Where is my boyfriend? Hunter tips my chin up.
“Don’t worry. You have a role to play. Soon. But we have to get through dinner tomorrow.”
I narrow my eyes at him. “Why do I feel like I’m going to have marks to explain?”
Lief bites my throat and I feel his chuckle. “Because you’re smart.”
Lief and Hunter take full advantage of their assets until I’m begging for more than a tease. They spend an hour satisfying me as I try to get answers out of them and only get moans and demands for more.
But when I wake up, Chase is there. I fling myself into his arms and hug him tightly. “Baby boy, I missed you last night.”
“Lief already gave me a stern talking to,” He promises, kissing me softly. “Ready to deal with parents, your brother, and a million questions?”
“I’m ready to pull my head out of my work and talk to you about life.” I stroke over his cheek. “I want to hear everything. Did your father approve the scholarship fund? What about the-”
Chase kisses me softly. “I love you and I’ll tell you everything ... while we get ready for Thanksgiving dinner.”
LIEF
My mother and father chat with Mr. Volkov and Vanya as we wait for Chase and Valerie to come down. They were talking when I left them. Hunter comes back from the front door with Tristan in tow.
Tristan shrugs. “Couldn’t convince Mom to come. She’s not very supportive about all of this, especially after talking to our father.”
My hand curls into a fist and my mother gently pats my shoulder. “Easy, son. Fathers hate sending their daughters off.”
