“Did you like that?” he asks in a low voice.

“Likeit? Shit, I think I discovered a new religion. And I definitely screamed your name, just like you wanted me to.”

He throbs inside me, as if the reminder of that moment has his cock trying to harden all over again. “Yes, you did.”

“It’s funny.” I lay my head down on his chest, too exhausted to keep holding it up. His heart thuds heavily against my ear as we cling to each other. “You and the others usually make me come at least a couple times when we have sex. But this time… this time, it was like instead of making me finish multiple times, you saved them all up for one mega-orgasm.”

North’s chuckle rumbles in my ear. “Mega-orgasm. I like that.”

“Yeah, so did I.” He grips my head, sliding his fingers through my hair as he tilts my head up and drops his own to press a heated kiss to my lips. “I like making you happy, Kiara. I like giving you orgasms. I want to always find new ways to bring you joy and pleasure.”

His words are so simple, but so heartfelt that they hit me right in the chest. I deepen our kiss, sliding my tongue against his in lazy strokes.

The sound of the door opening makes both of us look up, but before we can separate, Raven and Cain walk in. Their gazes heat when they see us, their footsteps slowing.

Maybe in another life, I’d be embarrassed about getting caught by two men with another man’s cock still inside me, his cum and my arousal smeared over my thighs. But in this lifetime, with these three mates I’ve somehow been lucky enough to find, I don’t feel even the slightest bit of shame or awkwardness, not even when Cain gives a low whistle.

“So,” he drawls, arching a brow even as a small tent forms in his pants, “what have you two been up to while we were gone?”

“Oh, nothing,” North shoots back, his tone dry. “Just discussing a bit of philosophy.”

“Is that the philosophy of orgasms?” Cain jokes as North sits up, his arms still wrapped around me so that I’m sitting on his lap, my knees on either side of him.

“Something like that.”

The guys continue to banter, teasing each other with easy camaraderie. I shake my head, rolling my eyes, but the truth is… I love it.

Their brotherly teasing just drives home the fact that I’mtheirs. That I’m truly shared between them.

And that makes me happier than I ever would’ve thought possible.

CHAPTER18

We’ve had a whole other day of prepping. We can’t wait anymore.

All of us, the fae at least, can feel Roanac’s power growing. The vampires and shifters can’t feel it but they can see for themselves how distressed all of us fae are, how restless we’re getting.

Besides, there’s not much else we can do. I don’t see how we could be any more prepared than we already are. Sure, we could do some more drills, have a few more practice skirmishes, but after a time, there’s nothing to do except to just get out there and, well, do it.

I have no idea exactly how powerful Roanac is. Even if he was standing in front of me I might not know. I can just feel that heismore powerful, that it’s not just growing but becoming more manageable for him. That he’s getting a firmer grasp on it, he’s able to handle it better. He’s no longer just writhing in pain.

That’s a good thing for me not collapsing in pain, but bad news when it comes to our time constraints and our hope of winning any battle against him.

We gather, vampire, fae, and shifter, at the base of the large tree that holds Tiorelle’s building. It’s the biggest tree in the area.

Queen Tiorelle, understandably, stands in front of everyone, a little raised up so that we can all see her. King Malcolm is with her, along with Queen Willow, standing in solidarity as the leaders of the vampires.

Tiorelle beckons us to join her. My stomach churns nervously, but I suppose it makes sense. North is kind of the de facto leader of the shifters right now, the ones who are here, anyway, and I’m the one with the All-Soul connection so I should probably be up here too, even if I’m still not sure how much of a leader I am.

Willow gives me an encouraging nod as my mates, and I join them. I really hope I don’t let her down. I don’t want to let anyone down. Not after all the faith they put in me.

“Everyone,” Tiorelle says, clapping her hands together for attention. People quiet down immediately. Man, I wish I could command a room like that. “Thank you for being here. For the vampires and the shifters, I know that this might not seem like your fight, and your ability to see beyond our species’ differences to overcome a threat to us all, gives me great hope for our future.

“And to the fae who have come here: thank you. We have lost much and risked much over the years, and I understand if it would be too much to ask for you to try to fight once again. It would be easier, simpler, for you to keep hiding rather than putting your lives at risk for something that might not succeed.

“It’s a much braver thing to realize the danger and try to meet it head on to try to stop it. And I appreciate that’s what you’re doing. Together, united, we are going to present an army that Roanac could never have seen coming, an army that nobody in our world could have expected. We are making history here, and I know that we have what it takes to win this battle.”

Everyone cheers Tiorelle on.
