Not anymore. Soren solved that.

But what he didn’t solve were her comments. Maybe she’s right. Maybe he’s just shocked to see me because I’m grown up, I’m not a kid anymore. Maybe it’s nothing more than that, not to mention he’s been in places where he’s probably gone days on end without even seeing a single woman.

I can’t imagine what I want to see, then see it, and extrapolate it into what I want without context.

Even if doing so does make me hot, does make me want to walk over there and sit on his lap right in front of my dad, damn the consequences. It was my dad, after all, who always sang Soren’s praises growing up.

It’s one of the reasons he got the military vote in his race for the Senate.

But what kind of scandal would it be if I got with his best friend, the man whose value system is beyond invincible, his ethics beyond reproach?

It could ruin my dad’s career, not to mention I could try and just look like a fool.

Maybe I am in over my head.

Then again maybe it’s not all in my head and I need to give it a try. You only live once and you regret the things you don’t go for more than the things you do.

And I want nothing more than to go after him.

Soren

“Anything else?” Sadie asks, still as enthusiastic as when we walked in here five hours ago.

“Glass of water with ice,” I say, glancing up at the screen over the bar.

“Nah. I’m good,” her father says, rubbing his hand over his stomach and then looking at his watch. “Man, you act like you haven’t been in a sports bar and grill for years,” he adds.

Not one that had your daughter in it.

“Gotta stay informed,” I say and go back to pretending to watch some game when really all I care about is getting more glances of his only child.

“I’m about to tap out,” he says, which is music to my ears. “You need a ride anywhere?”

“Nah. I’m good.”

“You’re gonna walk?”

“It’s good for you.”

He shrugs his shoulders and downs the last of his draft beer.

I should leave. I should tip back that water as soon as it comes and walk out of here with Rick. I absolutely should not milk a freakin’ glass of water and steal glances at Sadie.

But my body demands it. I’ve been as hard as a rock since I laid eyes on her. Even had to time my two trips to the toilet when she was back in the kitchen. Hard as hell standing up straight when you have a raging erection. That’s for sure.

The only relief is her, burying my thick inches inside of her, filling her with my spunk until she’s pregnant with my child.

She’s clearly not with the barman, because I straight out asked them. And the way she’s flirting, looking, and putting her body on display for me makes me think she wouldn’t be with someone else either. She wouldn’t do that to a boy her own age…and she damn sure wouldn’t flirt with someone behind the back of a real man…like me.

I know her dad must be under a lot of pressure to keep up the image of a picture-perfect family. That means his daughter can’t be promiscuous…at all.

I’m shocked she’s working in this bar, in these tiny clothes. The only good thing about it is it teaches her the value of a dollar, hard work, being on time, and working with others.

But if she was mine…scratch that. When she becomes mine, she’ll never have to work again.

A military pension isn’t the biggest thing in the world, but it’s enough. Not to mention as a retired SEAL there’s always contract work you can do. Quick three-month deployments that make a cool six figures. But why would I ever want to do that? Why would I want to risk my life, to be away from her for so long?
