Lesson learned. No more promo stunts. At least not anywhere I have to pretend to be someone I’m not. Or act as if I’m in love with someone I’m not. There’s only one woman I love in this world and I’m staring right at her.

“Agreed.”

Her shoulders sag in relief at my agreement and I’m done waiting. I crash my lips onto hers and she immediately opens for me. Her taste of strawberries and wilderness hits me, and I moan. I could kiss her all day long. All night, too, for that matter, if she’d let me.

She rubs up against me like a cat in heat and I remember I’m still fully dressed. I lean back to remove my top and throw it on the floor of the bathtub. I barely manage to untangle my arms before Juniper palms my neck and forces my mouth down to meet hers again. Her eagerness sends a thrill of excitement through my body.

Our lips collide and our teeth clash. She nips my bottom lip and I growl down her mouth. Her taste isn’t the only thing wild about her.

I pick her up and wait for her legs to circle my waist. As soon as she’s wrapped around me, I press her against the wall. The water from the shower hits me in the face and I sputter.

She giggles as I reach down to switch off the water. “Shower sex isn’t as sexy as the movies make it out to be.”

“You don’t think this is sexy?” I punch my hips allowing my hardness to hit her center.

She moans and arches her back as she grinds herself on my hardness. My fingers dig into her thighs, and I use my hold to drag her up and down my length.

“Holy cow, I forgot how good this feels.”

“Been a while, June Bug?”

She doesn’t stop her movements as she answers, “You know exactly how long it’s been.”

At her confirmation she hasn’t been with anyone since me, relief hits me, and I have to lock my knees before I crumble to the bottom of the shower with her in my arms.

“It’s the same for me.”

She stills at my admission before dipping her chin to meet my gaze. “It is?”

“You didn’t honestly think I’ve been pushing for you to give me a second chance while I had another woman on the side, did you?”

She shrugs. “I don’t know. You kissed another woman.”

I growl, and she raises a palm.

“I know. I know. It wasn’t how it appeared, but I didn’t know the truth until recently, did I?”

“I’m sorry, June Bug. I’m so damn sorry. I messed up.”

She soothes her hands across my shoulders. “It’s okay. We all mess up sometimes.”

My body jolts with relief at her forgiveness. Finally. My eyes fall closed and I rest my forehead against hers. All the hard work to get her to forgive me was worth it for this moment.

“Thank you,” I whisper against her skin.

“You can thank me by removing the rest of your clothes and beginning the worshipping my body portion of the day.”

I smirk before stepping out of the tub. I carry her in my arms as I walk into to her bedroom. She huffs when her gaze catches on the bed.

“You didn’t shut the door to my bedroom?”

Shutting the door was the last thing on my mind as I hurried to the shower to help her.

I shrug. “At least, they didn’t interrupt us in the bathroom.”

“Let me down.” At her command, I tighten my hold. “Just until I deal with these rugrats.”

I frown but release her to allow her to stand. She plants her hands on her hips causing her chest to jut forward and I promise myself to never forget to shut her bedroom door again. No more interruptions.
