“You don’t need to worry. Rowan was kicking her out when we arrived,” Aspen informs me.

“He was?” I clear my throat to rid myself of the hope in my voice. “Doesn’t matter. You should lower the volume, so Rowan can’t hear you. Our business is our business.”

Aspen barks out a laugh. “What delusional world do you live in? This is Winter Falls. Everyone at the bakery already figured out Rowan had sex with you.”

My eyes widen. “You’re kidding me.”

“Nope. When I arrived there to tell Rowan his ex was bothering you, the news about his sexcapades was already spreading.”

I bury my face in my hands. “Sexcapades?”

Good grief. Did Rowan tell everyone what we did last night? No, I refuse to believe it. He’s not the kind of guy to kiss and tell. I’m positive since I’ve spent the past year trying to figure out why his marriage failed, and no one was talking.

“Yeah,” Aspen says and hops onto the vanity. She brushes her hand over the marble. “This is nice.”

“Can everyone stop loving on the bathroom?” I screech.

“Uh oh. She’s about to blow. We need Long Island Iced Teas and chicken wings. Stat.” Juniper shackles my wrist and tugs me toward the door.

I refuse to move my booted foot causing Juniper to stumble to a halt. “Are you kidding me? I’m not going out there!”

I was worried enough about the morning after talk and now I’ve got to deal with the ex talk on the same day. No thanks. Call me a chicken. No, I’m more of an ostrich. I’ll bury my head in the sand and suffocate to death rather than deal with this whole mess.

“No worries. We’ll use the window in the guest bedroom. The screen is still off of it.”

I glare at Aspen. “You’re the one who removed the bed from the guest bedroom.” It’s not a question.

She bows. “You’re welcome.”

Does she think I’ll be thanking her? Not in this lifetime.

“How dare you?”

“I warned you when you wouldn’t stop bugging me about Lyric, I’d get my revenge.” She lifts her arms in the air and twirls around. “Welcome to my revenge.”

“You can take revenge on me anytime, Aspen. I can deal with a little annoyance for that bathtub.”

I raise an eyebrow at Juniper. She is such a liar. She has her own little annoyance she’s been avoiding for years. A bathtub wouldn’t be enough payment for her.

Lilac consults her watch. “Are we going to have lunch anytime soon? I have a meeting at four.”

Ellery threads her arm through Lilac’s. “You better cancel it. Unless you can handle a business meeting after drinking Long Island Ice Teas.”

Lilac sniffs. “I don’t drink Long Island Ice Teas.”

“You do today,” Ellery sings before dragging her to the door and marching out.

“Wait! I told you I’m not going out there.”

“You can’t hide in this bathroom forever,” Juniper says with a wistful glance toward the tub.

“I can try,” I mumble, but my sisters ignore me. Naturally.

Aspen and Juniper each secure an arm and drag me out of the bathroom and down the hallway to the guest bedroom.

“Where’s the bed anyway?” I ask as I notice the empty space in the middle of the room where the bed used to be.

“Plausible deniability,” Aspen says.
