“You do realize I’ll never play football again, don’t you? I’ll never earn the millions you need to live in the style you’ve become accustomed to.”

Those are the exact words the judge used. I had to give up half of my income because Sandra had the right to lead her life ‘in the style she’d become accustomed to’. What a crock of shit.

She crosses her arms over her chest, pushing up her breasts. She’s not stupid. She knows the action used to drive me wild. Good thing I’m no longer led around by my dick. Besides, I know how real breasts feel in my hands now. I won’t settle for fake any longer.

“Let me make this clear for you. This,” I wave my hand between the two of us, “is never going to happen. I’m never going to take you back.”

She shakes her head at me like I’m a little boy who doesn’t know his own mind. “Why must you drag this out?”

“Are you on crack? I’m not dragging anything out. We are done. The divorce papers are signed. You’ve had your settlement money. There’s nothing for us to discuss.”

“Where shall I sleep in the meantime? I assume you have a guest room in this house,” she says as if she didn’t hear a thing I’ve been saying for the past fifteen minutes.

I’m done with this. I clamp my hand around her upper arm and drag her to the front door. It opens before I can reach it.

“Hi!” Aspen waves. “We’re here to pick up our sister.”

She doesn’t bother to wait for my response before she presses past me with her sisters trailing after her. Ellery ignores me while Lilac gives me a tight smile and Juniper narrows her eyes on me.

“Who are these creatures?” Sandra asks.

I don’t bother answering her. She’s not part of my life anymore.

I lead her outside and notice her luggage on my porch. What the hell? Was she planning on moving in with me?

“Have a nice life,” I tell her as I return to my front door.

“But where will I go?”

Shit. As much as I’d enjoy throwing her out, I can’t. I can’t be a complete asshole to the woman I used to love. Although, considering the way I feel for Ash, I can’t help but wonder if what I felt for Sandra was ever love.

I turn around and pick up her luggage. Her frown changes into a smirk.

“Come on,” I say as I march to my golf cart. “There’s a lovely bed and breakfast in town.”

“But—”

“You coming or not,” I demand, but I don’t wait for her response.
