“I’m stealing this television when I leave.”

“You do not mess with a man’s television,” I grumble at her.

She giggles and settles in to watch a basketball game.

I hurry to finish the pasta before she falls asleep. I wasn’t joking earlier. It’s important to eat with pain medication or you’ll end up with stomach distress. I learned that lesson the hard way.

When I bring her the plate of food I’ve prepared, her eyes bug out of her head as she assesses the pasta. “Holy fresh guacamole! Exactly how much food do you think I eat in a day? I know my ass is big, but it’s not that big.”

Her ass is fucking perfect. It’s the perfect size for my hands. And there goes all the blood rushing from my head down to my groin again.

“Here,” I grumble and practically drop the plate in her lap.

“Fine, but I will have desert regardless of whether I finish all of this.”

Let’s see if she can eat the pasta without falling asleep with her face in the plate first.

“I think I can allow one cookie,” I tell her instead of mentioning how tired she appears. I’m not a complete idiot after all.

She scarfs down half of the plate before setting it on the coffee table and settling into the sofa. By the time I finish my meal, she’s fast asleep. I clean up the dishes before carrying her to my suite. It’s the only bedroom with an attached bathroom and I don’t want her walking far to use the facilities. Or at least that’s the reason I’m telling myself for why I want her in my bed.

After I settle her, my gaze lingers on the woman of my dreams laying there in my bed. She reminds me of an angel with her blonde hair spread out around the pillow. Bringing her here was a mistake but I’ll be damned if I regret it for one moment.
