My mate.
When she falls down from her high, she opens her eyes, and I meet those hazel irises. Her full lips part as she tries to catch her breath and now everything vanishes around me as she becomes my sole focus.
“You... really are a psychopath...”
I blink, cocking my head to one side. Then my mouth stretches into a wide shark tooth grin, and it looks like I’ve gone back tocrazy-town(a land filled with cute pink bunnies and fluffy clouds).
“Only when I’m with you, my beauty...”
A teasing smirk curves her lips, and I want to cum in her mouth. Grey will be so pissed when he smells me all over her when he returns later.
Unfortunately, our moment’s ruined next when a loud scream echoes through the void, and Belle shoots straight off the cot like a startled cat.
Fuck. It looks like another human has fallen into the Abyss.
Time to save them.
Chapter five
Belle
Thescreamrattlesmeto my core, and the lizard part of my brain tells me to stop. Don’t move. Danger is imminent.
That scream. I’ve never heard anything like it. It’s like a mix between the mating call of a vixen and the screeching wheels of a train, and someone is in great distress. A person, like me, and I have to set them free.
They will not succumb to the wraiths.
Madoc startles when I jump upright, my breasts swinging free and loose, and that’s right. He cut my shirt with a knife, but I don’t have time to dwell or to dress.
Someone is in trouble and they need me.
I don’t even have a bra and panties. I truly am exposed and vulnerable, but every moment I spend wishing for clothes, then another human is lost to the Abyss.
“We have to help them.”
Madoc doesn’t protest. He just sees the determination in my eyes and nods, and now we both run outside to help the human.
Everything is murky. I still have trouble seeing through the darkness of the Abyss, so I have no choice but to follow Madoc. His glowing red eyes are the only light I have.
We rush through the trees of the wraith forest as fast as we can. Well, as fast as I can. I’m the one slowing Madoc down, but he doesn’t want to risk leaving me behind.
I know I’m his priority, but I would rather he saw to the human. Who knows what those wraiths are doing to that poor soul.
A form materializes up ahead, and my stomach flops to the ground when we finally reach the human.
It’s a woman. No, a girl. Teenage, and she’s surrounded by a group of kids her own age.
No, not kids. Wraiths.
They’re kicking her around, laughing and mocking her, and I ball my fists.
Fucking bullies.
The wraiths have got her right where they want her. They showed me one of my past tormentors too, a little girl I had forgotten all about, but her mean taunts still echo even after all these years.
I think that was how I started seeing the apparition of the ghost girl at the end of my bed. If it wasn’t the character fromThe Ringthat scared the shit out of me, then it was Susie Mackenzie; the nastiest piece of shit I have ever met.
Humans really are monsters.
