Thank Goddess she arrived. She almost has the same lethalness as Natasha, and I wonder why the redhead never bothered to challenge the former queen.
It’s not like Natasha still isn’t queen. Our pack has two queens, since we both won our match, but it appears my coming into power has taken away all of hers.
I can’t say I feel sorry. She made my life hell for twelve years, but now I have stolen her life from her. And there’s nothing she can do. I have all the glory now, all the support of her former minions.
Chelsea and Annabel saw it earlier at the ballot. She doesn’t give a shit about either of them as she was prepared to take one of their places in the games.
Fuck her.
All four of us stand in the middle of the tent, and my heart won’t stop pounding. They’re all sneering at me, and it seems they’ve figured out who I am. I’m the famed former dud. But now I’m one of the strongest in my pack.
I was a nobody, but here I am attending the queen’s tent at the gathering. I heard stories growing up, and I always wanted to be a part of that super exclusive life. But it was always out of my reach.
Well, not anymore.
I straighten my posture, hold my chin high, then stare down every bitch who dares to sneer at me.
It’s a challenge. One I am willing to take.
Silver rumbles inside of me proudly.Look at you, former dud. Their wolves have nothing on yours...
The she-wolf is right. I can feel the wolves cringing away from my dominance. It must be radiating off me in waves. Even Annabel and Chelsea step back, but not Tiff. She offers me a small, wry smirk and that’s the first time I have seen her smile.
Well, if a smirk could be classed as a smile. She still looks scary. The other females stop glaring now, and it appears I have asserted my place. I am not to be messed with.
That’s until a tall, statuesque brunette pushes through the crowd, and I almost gag when I get a whiff of her powerful musk.
She almost smells like a male, and she’s built like one too.
This is no feminine female. Though she still wears a dress, her bulging muscles almost rip the material, and I have to crane my neck to get a good look at her.
Where did she come from? The Amazon? She’s one big girl.
One side of her head is a long, sleek brown, but the other side is shaved, and her arms and legs are covered in tribal tattoos.
Chelsea and Annabel cower away like pups, but only Tiffany stands her ground. We both refuse to be intimidated by the larger female.
She cocks her head, eyeing me up and down, and her top lip pulls up as if someone slipped a hook in her mouth.
“So, you’re the dud...”
The tent falls as silent as a graveyard next at the insult. All eyes are on us now as everyone stares.
Shit. She’s so much taller than I am and could probably snap my neck with her thighs, but I stand my ground. Silver is not afraid of her, and if she isn’t, then I won’t be either. I dread to see this female’s wolf.
My eyes fall on the necklace around her neck, spying that wolf fang pendant. The tooth of one of her former victims, perhaps?
Yikes.
Don’t be put off, Ylfa. She wouldn’t be sending so much potent waves your way if she didn’t deem you a threat. You came out of nowhere and beat every strong female in your pack, yet females like her have to work their whole lives just to get so strong. She’s intimidated...
How do you know?
Silver shrugs.A wolf’s intuition.
I give an inward roll of my eyes and meet the Amazon female’s bright gray again. Despite her harsh features, she’s quite the beauty, but I won’t be fooled.
I make my eyes flash next, and they reflect off her gray pair. “Not a dud anymore.”
