“Let’s go,” I whispered as I got out of the car and offered Julia my hand. Once we were both out and standing on the sidewalk, I spoke to Michael, “I’ll call you when we’re ready to leave. Connie will text you our hotel information.”
“Yes, Mr. Sherman. She already has. We’re prepared.”
With my hand on Julia’s back, we approached the glass entry.
I’d do as I’d promised, but if at any moment I believed Julia wanted or needed my input, it would be there. If it wasn’t for her, I’d burn Wade Pharmaceutical to the ground just to watch the Butlers go up in flames. Fuck, I’d invite Lena and we would roast marshmallows.
That wasn’t what would happen.
I’d make sure that Wade succeeded for Julia. That didn’t mean that the Butlers would be spared from my revenge. A tingle reverberated through me. I hadn’t spoken to Marlin Butler since his brother Logan had the audacity to overstep his bounds with Lena. I’d warned both Butlers that the time would come when I’d watch them fall.
The time had come.
