“I’ve always wanted to be irresistible.”
Nash laughs even as he leans closer, as he presses our lips together. This time, he doesn’t hold back and neither do I. The kiss is hot and wild and demanding. His hands move over me as if he’s trying to learn every inch of my body. And he doesn’t let me go until the ‘fasten seatbelt’ sign pings on.
“I think we should take this fake boyfriend thing all the way,” Nash says.
“All the way?”
“As far as you want it to go.”
ChapterFive
Nash
Like the couple we’re pretending to be, Luna and I make our way to the baggage claim together. Her exes, as I’ve come to think of them, are behind us, so I take her carryon and hold both in one hand while I hold Luna’s hand with the other.
“So you said you’re staying at the Wyndham?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s all inclusive. Would you need to let them know I’m coming?”
She looks up at me with a bright smile and I know I’ve made the right choice. And to be honest, I’d rather stay in a basic hotel room with Luna than relax in the private luxury of the guest house at my boss’s palatial villa.
“No. I paid Miller back, but I didn’t change anything about the reservation.”
I smile back at her as we stop in front of the baggage claim. And when our luggage is all in hand, we head out to wait for the shuttle that will take us to the Wyndham. And we wait right beside the exes.
I only look their direction once. Luna’s gaze keeps darting toward them. I wrap an arm around her and try to keep her attention on me. Maybe the exes will think I’m jealous, but really, I can feel Luna tense every time she looks in their direction.
When the shuttle arrives, I tell Luna to go pick our seats while I load the bags. I smirk a little when Miller follows suit and struggles to load Janine’s two large suitcases along with one of his own. I give him a wink as I’m easily able to lift all our luggage.
I have Luna’s carryon strapped around me, her small rolling bag in one hand and mine in the other. I load everything, then watch Miller struggle for a moment before finally taking pity on him and helping him out.
When I make my way to where Luna’s sitting, she has her brows lifted in surprise. “That was nice of you.”
I shrug. “Bet he wishes he was with someone who was naturally sexy and didn’t need two suitcases full of addons.”
Luna coughs because there’s no way in hell the exes didn’t hear me say that. She widens her eyes at me in warning, but I just laugh and wrap my arm around her. I’m definitely going to take advantage of being able to touch her as much as I want.
“Looks like Luna decided that a sugar daddy was what she wanted,” Janine says loud enough for the whole bus to hear.
That should probably offend me or make me feel old. Instead, the first thought that pops into my head is that I’d gladly be Luna’s sugar daddy. I look over at Janine, who lifts her chin.
“I do love taking care of Luna. Protecting her, making sure she’s satisfied.” I make sure to show all my teeth as I smile at the exes.
Janine’s chin isn’t as high in the air as Miller whispers for her to cut it out.
When we get to the hotel, we end up in line behind the exes at the registration desk. And while I’m only trying to make sure Marshall knows exactly what he’s missing, the front desk employee must think we’re actual friends.
We end up in the same elevator, the same floor, and finally next-door to each other. Luna groans as I unlock the door. Marshall’s cheeks are cherry red. Janine, on the other hand, has a smile on her face that I don’t like the look of at all.
“I can call and ask to be moved,” I say as soon as we close the door.
Luna takes a deep breath. “It’s fine.”
“Really? Do you really want to listen to them having sex?”
Her shoulders slump. “No. But I don’t want to admit defeat and move, either.”
