“It’s a pretty big thing to spring on your roommate.”

“I’m happy for you,” Jane says, then takes a sip from her tall glass of ice tea. The condensation glistens in the sun, just like her sunglasses. “And I still need to think about it before you drop your oh-so-subtle hints.”

Logan told me he’d help Jane in her writing career if I wanted him to. “I want to help you, help your friends, help you follow your passions.”

Then he chuckled, shaking his head, down at me as I lay shrouded warmly in silk sheets.

“Do I sound like the biggest cliché ever?” he’d asked me

“If you’re a cliché….”

I sprung up and climbed atop him. I was shocked by how bold I was being.

This wasn’t the dorky virgin, the nothing nobody.

I was doing it, and it felt right.

He didn’t laugh at me. He didn’t judge.

My man grabbed my hips and pulled me closer as I straddled him, his hard cock brushing against my heated core, his massive helm resting against my still-sensitive clit.

He smirked, looking so dashing I wish I could’ve taken a picture. “What were you saying?”

I pressed against his shoulders and felt the solid shape of him.

Myfreaking man.

“Then you’re my cliché.”

“Lucy.”

I snap back to the present, and Jane grins.

“Iwonderwho you’re thinking about it.”

“I know.” I laugh softly. “I’m….”

“Apologetic?”

I smile. “You’re catching on.”

“Hard not to, the way you two lovebirds chirp at each other.”

“Says, Mrs. Lino.”

She lifts her sunglasses up, simply so she can roll her eyes.

“Don’t act all coy with me,” I say. “You’re smitten.”

She waves her hand, grinning like she did when we were kids. It brings to mind all the smiles we’ve ever shared. I’m bursting with love for the future, my friend, and most of all for Logan.

Always for him, the core of it burning, making it easier to care for and be cared for.

“Smitten,” I tease.

“God, what are you, twelve?”

She laughs, and I shake my head.
