“You’re an ass Peter, you know that,” Atlas says.
“Yes I know and your point is what. I mean you’re stating the obvious, everyone here knows I’m an ass.” Peter says with no remorse. As he walks away to wash his hands.
“Is he the one who paid my hotel bill?” I ask Atlas as Peter walks away.
“Yes,” Atlas says.
“Oh I have to give him his money back,” I say.
“You will do no such thing, I know you don’t know me but you’ll learn quickly. I do not bite my tongue so if your feelings get hurt easily, don’t talk to me. Also, anything I do, I do because I want to, so do not insult me by throwing my gift to you back in my face.” He sits across from Savvy with the plate of tacos he made and I can’t help wondering if he’s ever had a taco before in his life.
“Jaasiel these tacos are bussin” Sheppard tells Jaasiel as he gives him a fist bump. He has about eight tacos on two plates. Saint has about the same amount and much to my surprise so does Skai.
“Is she going to eat all that,” I whisper to Atlas.
“That little walking menace will eat all that and all the food on both her brother’s plates too.”
“I’m feeling bullied Uncle Atlas, Uncle Seph you gonna let him attack me like that?”
“Leave my baby alone Atlas,” Joseph says.
“She’s my baby too, and I can mess with her if I want too!”
Joseph’s phone chirps before he can respond. He checks his messages and smiles extra wide.
“Who has you smiling like that Uncle Seph? That pretty woman I saw you with a couple of weeks ago?” She asks. And it’s like someone snatched the needle off of a playing record. All the attention is on Joseph.
“Excuse me! What woman?” Savvy exclaims.
“Big mouth,” Joseph tells Skai. “Well you should’ve gotten me that black-on-black jeep I asked you for,” she says around a bite of taco.
“It’s in the garage you brat, you haven't been here for me to give it to you,” he grumbles.
“Wait, you actually got it? I was just playing Uncle Seph,” she says mortified.
“Skai!” Savvy yells at her.
“Momma, I was just playing. I didn't expect him to actually buy it! Who buys someone a car?” she is almost screeching.
“They do!” Savvy says still yelling “and you know you can’t play with them that way!”
“I’m sorry Uncle Seph, can you take it back?” She asks almost in tears.
“I’m not taking a damn thing back, I bought it for you. And if I didn’t want to buy it, I wouldn’t have bought it. Skai the Jeep is yours,” he says and kisses her on her temple.
“She is not keeping that Jeep!”
“Baby relax,” Josh tells her.
“So wait, Saint gets a house…
“Leave me out of it”
“And Skai gets a Jeep, what am I chopped liver over here?” Sheppard said on his ninth taco.
“Nah, but I thought you’d like the Trackhawk SRT over a Jeep,” Jabarri tells him.
“Y’all planned this?!” Savvy says in confusion.
