“How could you be mad at her for not telling you a major part of her life when you haven’t told her about your life? Don’t you think at this point she has the right to know? If you’re going to love her and have her love you, you can’t be afraid to tell her who you are. Tell her soon Gummy and heal together.” he tells me.
We sit there in comfortable silence, although I find myself checking my watch and looking at the door every few seconds. A few seconds later I hear Josh laughing and I look over at him scowling.
“What ?!” I snap.
“Oh nothing, I could remember the night of my engagement party and how someone, who shall remain nameless, laughed at me about how anxious I was to see Savvy. Does any of that ring a bell? And you are over here just about coming out of your skin waiting.”
“You’re enjoying this aren’t you?” I say with a smile.
“I am but not in the way you are thinking”
Before I can question him about what he means by that the door opens and Savvy walks out. Josh and I both stand.
“Oouuu don’t you look handsome in your black tux with the pocket-handkerchief to match True’s dress. Y’all are a stunning couple,” Savvy tells him and she grabs him up in a hug.
He hugs her back and when they separate the sounds of heels hitting the floor has us all turning to see True walk through the door. My damn, she looks like a pink-coated piece of chocolate and I intend to lick every inch of her because I know first hand she tastes as good as she looks.
“True you look extraordinarily beautiful,” I tell her when I reach her. The outfit, the hair, and the makeup have her looking like all my wet dreams come to life.
“And you look like a bigger, sexier, meaner version of 007,” she tells me.
“Let’s go before, I take you upstairs and destroy all the work you put in on your hair and makeup.”
“Maybe later,” True whispers
“Definitely later,” I whisper back.
I take her hand, grab our roller skates, say goodbye to Josh and Savvy, and head to the venue.
