Chapter 12

Victor

Columbia is as beautiful as I remember, I should come home more often. I sit on the balcony sipping my coffee wondering what the hell is going on in Texas. My second in command has gotten nowhere with locating True. Where the hell is she? She has completely disappeared. I reached out to my guys in Texas to find her and so far nothing, so I reached out to all my contacts in the surrounding states. That bitch has to be behind what happened at my compound and when I find her I am going to finish what I started. She has to be working with someone she’s not smart enough or have enough money to be the cause of the small businesses I am losing. I really don’t care about them. They were no longer serving a purpose but someone is snatching up the bigger businesses I own. When I found out the casino was seized and sold at auction I was pissed and that is when I realized a good fifty percent of my stateside businesses were just gone. All of this shit happened when I caught that ungrateful bitch at my house, but until I get eyes on her and try to figure out who she is working with I cannot come to the states. Since my incompetent second can’t find one simple woman I have put up a reward of one million dollars. Someone is bound to come forward with her whereabouts, or get me some information on her. Until then I have to stay where I am and try to protect what’s left of my interests which has become even harder since my lawyer has come up missing. If I were a betting man I’d say he’s dead and his body will never be found. Whoever True has hooked up with is good, probably the best I have ever seen and I am wondering why I haven’t run across him before. And I know I haven’t because a man as skilled and as deadly as he is would be known in my world and worth more than an entire shipment of product.

I look up over my shoulder as my guards come in to carry the passed out girl in bed. I miss the states, the girls were better, it’s hard to get the right complexion here. Honor had a beautiful milk chocolate complexion and those eyes of hers were the icing on the cake. When I saw her walking to school I knew I had to have her, so I did. She is the only woman I have ever loved or ever will love. If only she would have listened to me, things could be so much different. I gave her everything she could ask for and she still betrayed me. I have tried and failed to find her replacement and only one woman comes close and she is off limits. The girls in Columbia are too light to skinny just too wrong, they aren’t my Honor.

The first thing I am going to do when I get back state side is kill my second in command and bury his useless ass right next to Eduardo’s dead fat body. I wonder if I can turn this unknown threat and get him to work for me. I could take over the East coast along with the Southeast US with him by my side.

A noise brings me out of my thoughts, “feed her ass to the sharks,” I tell the guards carrying the girl out of my room. “And do it right this time, last time body parts washed up on shore!” I yell at them. That incident was inconvenient and costly, I had to pay a hefty sum to the police to look the other way. Here’s the bottom line I do not want to accept, I will have to go back to Texas whether I have identified the threat or not or I might not have anything in Texas to go back to.

True

I’m ready and downstairs waiting for Savvy in the morning when I see her come from her suites.

“Hey girl, are you ready to go?” she asks me.

“Yes ma’am,” I tell her as I watch her runway walk towards me in what would be casual on anyone else, but on Savvy it looks like couture. She stops in front of me and begins to dig in her purse. “Hold on, I forgot..”

“Savvy!” Jag calls her as he pads out to her with gun and holster in his hand, you forgot Brianna. He snatches her up when he’s close enough and kisses her breathless and I damn near swoon. As he begins kissing her neck she begins to giggle and wiggles out of his arms.

“Stop it Jag, you’re trying to stop me from spending your money”

He smirks at her and says, “you think I give a fuck about you spending my money? Spend it all we’ll live off your money”

“No, they hell we won’t!”

“And that is why I am not worried about you spending my money,” he laughs. “Besides, I got enough money to take care of you baby; buy what you want. I’ll see you later” he walks away but not before he slaps her on her ass.

She places the gun in her purse and heads out of the door.

“Do you always carry a gun with you?” I ask.

“Yep, blame my dad, since he didn’t get any sons I became his honorary son. He wanted to make sure I knew how to protect myself since I worked jobs that required me to go into people’s homes by myself, most of the time in not-so-great neighborhoods. Brianna has saved me on more than one occasion.” She tells me.

We get in her SUV and head to town to shop, well for Savvy to shop, not me I’m just here to get out of the house.

After a delicious breakfast but not a Jaasiel breakfast mind you, we head to the stores and I see why Joshua wasn’t worried about her shopping, she would pick something up, look at the price, and put it back down. In one store she had an entire shopping cart of stuff and started to add up her cart and left the whole cart with an associate telling me it was too expensive. I have no idea how she was able to finally buy the stuff she needed for her book event but she spent that money with no problem. I also noticed she did not have a problem spending money on an outfit for her husband.

We decide to grab a coffee before we head back to the house, we reach the coffee shop and order our coffee and pastries. As soon as we sit down Savvy’s phone rings.

“Savvy, where are you Hatima Yangu?”

“Having a nice cup of coffee at Joe Momma Coffee Shop.”

“We’re on our way,” he says and the phone hangs up.

Less than ten minutes later all eight of the brothers walk in the coffee shop and all eyes, men, and women go to the walking wall of pure fine that just came in. We put a few more tables and chairs together and ended up taking over one side of the coffee shop. Just like at the compound it turns into a lively event of shit-talking, jokes, and family.

A few of the bold women make their way over to the table to try to shoot their shot. The look on Savvy's face let any woman in a five-mile radius know Josh was completely off-limits. I guess I had the matching look on my face because all the brothers got hit on except Josh and Atlas.

“I was thinking about barbecuing tonight,” Jaasiel says, “ if anyone is interested.” Everyone said they’d be there, “what about you and True, Atlas?” Jaasiel asks.

“Nope, True, and I have plans tonight,” he says and I shoot my eyes to him since this is the first time I’ve heard of these plans. He just puts his arm around me and pulls me closer to his side. About an hour later and god knows how many cups of coffee, frappes, and pastries later we finally leave the coffee shop. With as much money as the brothers spent there, they could close for the day.

Atlas

I have everything set up for my date night with True. I have the screen set up and have hotwired the VCR to play the tape through the projector. I have her snacks on deck: goobers, nachos with jalapeno peppers, and an extra-large blue raspberry Icee. I borrowed Aryan’s pickup truck, put an air mattress in the back with some blankets and pillows. Citronella torch candles surround the truck to keep the bugs away and there’s a fire pit lit on either side of the flatbed. The projector is sitting on the top of the truck.
