Joshua has taken Savvy to the table, sat her in his lap, and is feeding her breakfast. Asher hands me a towel and I dry off as best I can as I ask my brothers, “What do we need to complete today,” and begin to load up my plate. Jaasiel has made bacon, sausage, country ham, eggs, pancakes, shrimp and grits, biscuits, hash browns, tea, coffee, juice, and we used to have water.
We own our own real estate, Construction Company, and architect firm. We wanted it to be a one-stop-shop for buyers. We also have been toying with the idea of having our own in-house financing as well. We are going to work today to get some work done on a few houses. The houses we are building for this project have all been sold and we are ready to break ground on phase two. The last houses have finally had the rough plumbing and electrical HVAC installed, so we are going in today to install the installation and complete the drywall and interior fixtures.
Once we have that done the team that handles the exteriors will get started. After that, we’ll come back in and install hard surface flooring, countertops; complete exterior grading, install mirrors, shower doors; finish flooring, exterior landscaping. Then a building-code official completes a final inspection and issues a certificate of occupancy.
And lastly, we will perform a final walk-through.
“We’re going to tackle the Stephens, Clayton, and the Matthews house today,” Joseph says. So it’s going to be a full day.”
Are you coming with us today Savvy? Anson asks.
“Nope, you boys are going to have to get along without me today. I have some writing to do,” she says. She released her first book a few months ago and she is in the process of writing her second book. We clean up the kitchen, since there is no food to put away, we load the dishwasher and clean the counters and floors, go to our respective cars, and head to the construction site.
