Thirty days. I just have to get though thirty days.

But with him smiling at me so charmingly and with the threat of his kisses and touches lingering in the air between us, I know it’s going to be much harder than I first imagined.

Dane

I’m walking beside her on the beach, trying my best to keep my body under control as I watch her perfect little ass swaying as she walks in that damn bikini, her long blonde hair brushing across her bare back and blowing in the wind with each step. She’s wearing a seafoam-colored bikini that perfectly brings out that pale blue color of her eyes.

When I’d hired a professional to fill the closet with clothing for Summer based only a picture, I’d never thought she’d dress her so perfectly. That bikini looks like it was tailor made for her, and the damn strings of the things are taunting me.

My swimming trunks are a plain navy blue like I like, and though it’s hot as hell under the blazing Florida sun, I’m wishing I had my full suit on so I could hide the erection that keeps trying to tent my trunks.

Fuck, what this girl does to me.

I notice the other males on the beach glancing appreciatively at her, and I have to fight the growl that builds in my chest. Instead, I move closer to her side and glare daggers at each one who looks too long.

On the one hand, I love the way she looks in that skimpy little bikini and am proud as a peacock to be by her side.

On the other, I want to cover her up and whisk her away from all the male eyes ogling what’s mine.

I wrap a possessive arm around her waist, pulling her against me as we stroll along the beach, sending a clear message to every man in the vicinity who she belongs to.

The feel of her body next to mine somewhat calms the jealous tempest brewing inside me.

She glances up at me questioningly, but she doesn’t pull away or make a scene.

Instead, she comments drily, “Do you plan to stay barnacled onto my side all day?”

I grin down at her as I answer simply, “Yes.”

She frowns, but then a mischievous glint lights her eyes, and she says, “You’ll have to get wet then.”

The next thing I know she twists away from me and runs into the water.

I follow and watch as she dunks under the water and then comes back up, her long hair wet, water droplets glistening as they roll down her tanned skin.

She’s fucking amazing, and although I’m not that old at just shy of thirty, she makes me feel young again.

When I finally catch up to her, she’s found the part of the ocean where the waves gently roll rather than crash. The water is up to her shoulders and she’s gently riding the waves.

I reach out for her and loop my arms around her waist, pulling her to me, holding her as we bounce up with each wave that rolls by. “What is it about you, Summer?” I murmur, looking down into her seafoam eyes that are rendered an even lighter shade of blue under the sun.

She gazes back up at me innocently. She doesn’t answer me, and I don’t expect her to. I’ve probably puzzled her with my question. I want to kiss her so badly I can’t breathe, and as the next wave rolls by, I lean down and do just that.

Summer

I don’t know what I expected staying with Dane for a month to be like, but it wasn’t this.

I didn’t expect him to walk along the shoreline with me. I didn’t expect him to be so protective of me, possessive in a way that makes my stomach clench. I didn’t expect him to kiss me me in the ocean. I didn’t expect to enjoy being around him.

Why aren’t I fighting him more? More? Who am I kidding? I’m not fighting him at all.

Every time his lips fall to mine, I melt. My limbs turn to mush and it’s nothing but his strong arms that keep me from collapsing into a puddle at his feet.

He knows it too. That frustratingly sexy, cocky grin of his says it all.
