“What about you?” I flinch when her warm palm presses to my back. “Do you need anything, handsome?”

Grinch chuckles again.

“No,” I grunt, not feeling at ease until she walks away.

“What was that all about?” Faith asks, smiling as I look up to see her settled beside Legend rather than still sitting in his lap.

“Constance has a crush on him,” Legend helpfully supplies.

“She’s like sixteen,” Faith says, her face doing that familiar scrunching thing she’s always doing.

“She’s nineteen,” Grinch corrects. “Max looked her up the last time she waited on us.”

I shudder. “Still too damn young.”

Faith chuckles. “Tell her you’re not interested.”

When Grinch laughs this time, I kick his leg under the table.

“He did,” Legend says. “She ignored him. Gets all touchy feely when he comes in.”

“You should ask her to stop. If you were the one rubbing on her back when she didn’t want it, there would be an uproar,” Faith says, and I smile at her anger in my defense.

“I’d kick your ass personally,” Grinch adds.

Faith glares at him before looking back at me. “This double-standard bullshit really pisses me off,” she hisses.

“Shit,” Legend snaps when Constance heads back in our direction.

“Please just leave it alone,” I beg. “I don’t want to embarrass her.”

“Are you wanting to leave the option open?” Faith asks.

“Fuck no. She’s way too young for me.”

She gives me a quick nod, looking up at Constance like she’s as sweet as pie.

Constance’s hand sweeps down my back, and I do my best to avoid cringing.

“He’s got three ex-wives and six kids he doesn’t take care of.”

“What?” Constance asks on a little laugh like she can’t believe her ears.

Grinch and Legend both try to cover their own laughter with their hands. They both fail miserably.

“If you were thinking getting with him would be a win,” Faith adds. “Three ex-wives and six kids.”

Constance’s hand immediately leaves my back. “I’ll have your order out to you shortly.”

I wait until the waitress disappears into the kitchen before speaking.

“Seriously? She’s going to spread that all over town!”

“The biker bunnies won’t care,” Faith says with a shrug.

I open my mouth to argue further, but her glare is a challenge.

I have no doubt that Sylvie opened her mouth about me not remembering our night together.
