To take me to the fucking moon.
And Cameron Hines? He does just that.

“ShouldI go to the other room? You know, in case Trinity gets up. Do you think it would confuse her to see me in bed with you?” Natalie asks as she turns over in my arms so that we’re facing one another.
“As much as I’d like for you to stay here with me, I don’t want her to see this yet.”
“Completely understandable.”
Breathing a sigh of relief at the way she’s handling this, I reach over the side of the bed and hand her my shirt.
“Ohh, you’re going to give me something that smells like you, huh?”
The thought warms a place in my heart and, at the same time, sends my cock pressing against her bare thigh. This part of my personality hasn’t come out in years and it’s rising up with a vengeance right now. Now that I’ve opened the door to it, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to close it back, especially when it comes to the woman lying next to me. “I’m gonna lie here the rest of the night and think about you on the other side of the house wearing my shirt.”
“Well, if it makes you feel any better, I’m going to be wearing it, thinking about you over here.”
I groan in the back of my throat. “I wouldn’t say that helps me very much.”
“Good.” She giggles. “I didn’t wanna make it anymore comfortable for you.”
“That you very definitely have not.”
She makes a move, kissing me. It’s soft and passionate at the same time. “I’m gonna head to my room.”
“I love that you call it your room.” I push a few strands of hair back from her face. “Like you want to be here and you’ve claimed a spot, not only in my life, but in the house.”
“Listen to you, Cameron Hines, being sweeter than I ever imagined you could be.” She grins.
“I’m rusty and I hope you’ll be patient with me.”
“I think I’ve got that down, Cam. I’ve been waiting for the last two and a half years, at least, for you to see me as someone other than your daughter’s caretaker.”
Reaching over, I grasp her cheek with the palm of my hand. “Trust me, I’ve been looking at you as way more than that for a while. I just didn’t know how to approach you and also didn’t want to put myself out there either. After I got left, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to handle it again.”
She digs her cheek into my palm. “I still can’t believe that someone left the two of you.”
“It used to bother me. Like, I used to stay up at night and try to figure out what we did wrong.”
“Oh Cam.” She tilts her forehead into mine. “This wasn’t your fault.”
“Now, I know it. Back then, I wasn’t confident in myself. I was blaming myself and over-compensating with Trin. I let her do a lot I shouldn’t have and it took us a bit to get back on track. I had to learn to be a father and, at the same time, realize that meant saying no sometimes. It was a hard time and I hated my ex for it,” I admit softly.
“I think anyone would. There are times when I hate her for what she’s done to Trin. What she’s missing with her.”
“And that’s why you’re so important to us.” I lean in, kissing her soundly on the lips.
When we pull back, she smiles. “I need to go to my room. We’re running the chance of Trinity getting up and seeing me in here.”
“Okay.” I reluctantly let her go, wishing she would be staying here with me.
“See you at practice today.” She winks before bending over to pick my shirt up off the floor and slipping it over her naked body.
Leaning back against the pillows, I blow out a breath before running my palms over my face. We’ve started something I know will never be finished.
