Little did he know that she’d told Craig they’d better be off as friends. For all Bree knew, Declan thought she was still dating her colleague.

And he took her home with him, anyway. And maybe because of it. He hadn’t made a move in the past half year. So why now?

She almost missed his whisper before she went to sleep last night.

It’s so good to have my best friend back.

That was exactly not what she’d wanted out of last night. Being back friends again was never an option for Bree.

The one thing she’d learned from the past six months was that she deserved someone who would go for her completely. Not someone who tried to win her back as a best friend. Or tried to mark his territory when someone else was sniffing around.

She hated to say it, but she couldn’t trust his intentions. And trust was the one thing she needed. After all that her family had been through, she would never settle for less.

She didn’t need someone who’s uncertain about his feelings for her. Or someone who’d only want what he couldn’t have anymore.

Her sister pulled into the street and lowered her speed the closer she got to Declan’s two-story home.

Bree picked up her heels and sneaked off the porch. She’d left her shredded panties behind on the bed. With messed up hair, her heels in one hand, and crusted cum between her thighs, she practically ran to the passenger door.

Look up walk of shame online…. enter photograph of Bree this morning.

She couldn’t believe she was walking out on him like this. But what was the alternative? Going through the awkward ‘next morning convo’? Give him room to hurt her feelings all over again?

Bree opened the passenger door and stepped inside. After fastening her seatbelt, she looked from under her lashes at her sister.

“You reek of sex,” Gwenn said with her nose turned up.

“Oh my God, stop it. Don’t even mention it.” Bree brought a hand through her wild hair and got stuck in her dark curls. Gwenn busted out laughing.

“Oh, this is priceless. I want to take a picture so bad.”

“Gwenn! Get a move on. Drive,” Bree shooed her sister before looking out of her window. She held her hand against her pounding chest. Luckily, there was still no sign of Dec.

“Tell me everything,” Gwenn said after turning the car around on Dec’s street.

Bree shifted in her seat, pulling the hem from her dress down.

“Why are we making a clean getaway? You practically jumped into this car, flashing your pussy all over the damn neighborhood.”

Bree surely hoped that Keenan, who lived across the street from Dec, didn’t have to wash out his eyes because of Bree’s show this morning. “You can take the girl out of the army…. but never the army out of—”

“Ah, suck it. So tell me what happened.”

“Okay, picture this… Hot, sweaty sex. No, not just hot… MIND-blowing sex,” Bree said.

“Yes! About time.”

“I guess….” Bree stared out of the window as they drove past one and two-story houses with green strips of grass lining each driveway. Dec really did well for himself. His house would make a magnificent home someday for him and his family. The thought pained her.

“What’s wrong, sis? Why are you here with me, when you could go for another round with Dec?”

“You know why.” Bree whirled in her seat and narrowed her eyes at her sister.

“I can’t let him get to me. He’s just afraid I’m not lusting over him anymore, so he wants to pull me back in again. He doesn’t want me, but he can’t have me being with somebody else.”

Gwenn stopped at a red light. She mirrored Bree as she whirled in her seat. Her azure eyes narrowed even more when Bree didn’t flinch. “You know Dec’s not like that. Come on, Bree.”

“No. I don’t know that.”
