I was certain when that day finally came I would be able to see the outline of his thick cock, bulging my lower abdomen as he fit himself inside me at last. Size-wise we really were mismatched since Sir was fully twice as big as me and very well hung. But I believed with patience and persistence we would at last be able to seal our bond…

And we might have, too, if fate hadn’t intervened.

We had been flying through my own galaxy—the Milky Way, though Sir told me the other Twelve Peoples called it “The Goddess’s Cloak”—for some time when a message from Sir’s own galaxy came through. I didn’t know exactly what it said because it was a thought message that he received when he had on the control band that helped him pilot the ship. But when he took the golden wire off his head and turned to me, he had a grave look on his face.

“Well, it seems the time for idling is over, little one,” he rumbled.

“Idling? Isthatwhat we’ve been doing?” I asked, frowning. “Aren’t we flying faster than the speed of light?”

Sir nodded.

“We are but we’ve still been taking our time. I was hoping to seal our Master/pet bond before we went to Court, where I will make my case to save your galaxy to Splendara the Third and Thirtieth. But I’m afraid there are circumstances afoot that will change our schedule. We are, in short, out of time.”

I shook my head.

“I don’t understand. How are we suddenly out of time?”

“I have just received a message that my rival, Sir Gra’multh, the Overlord of the Southern Continent, is going to Court tomorrow,” Sir told me. “There he will try to convince the Sovereign that your galaxy is ripe for the plucking and we should start subjugating the Twelve Peoples immediately.”

“What a bastard!” I exclaimed angrily. “He rules over a whole continent already—isn’t that enough for him?”

“Nothing is ever enough for Gra’multh,” Sir said grimly. “His greed for power and wealth are like the supermassive black hole at the center of your galaxy—he could suck in every world and people in the universe and still not be satisfied.”

“And…does he have the same powers you do?” I asked. “The same, uh, Mental Abilities, I mean?”

Sir nodded.

“Yes, he does. But hopefully it won’t come down to a duel. Once Splendara the Third and Thirtieth sees you and hears you speak perfect Court Korgish, she will have to acknowledge that your people are worthy of living their own lives instead of being Mind-Controlled and forced to work for an Overlord’s profit.”

I raised an eyebrow at him.

“So you admit now that humans are ‘people’—not just animals?”

“I admit that you deserve respect and autonomy,” Sir said, frowning. “Though none of you has the mental superiority that defines a trueperson.”

I sighed in frustration. As much as I was growing to care for Sir, this was still a stumbling stone in our relationship. How could I really want to live the rest of my life with a man who didn’t classify me or my species as actualpeople?

But there was no use in fighting about it, I thought. I was never going to change Sir’s mind with words alone. I would have to do something spectacular to prove I was more than just a pet.

“What about me using the Matter Synthesizer and being able to learn to read and speak your language?” I asked him, unable to let the matter drop completely.

Sir smiled at me.

“You’re special, little one. But if I defined you as a ‘person,’ you couldn’t be my pet anymore. Do you see?”

I bit my lip.

“I guess so…would that change our relationship?”

Sir nodded.

“Irrevocably. But we don’t need to worry about that right now. All we need to prove is that you’re advanced enough that you shouldn’t be enslaved. And I think we can manage that nicely in Court tomorrow. We’ll just have to speed up our journey a bit.”

“But…how can we go even faster than we already are?” I asked. “And if we’re still inmygalaxy, how are we going to get toyoursby tomorrow?”

“We’re going to fold space,” Sir said calmly. “I’ll use my Folding Drive to open a kind of wormhole which will take us from your galaxy to mine in an instant.” He frowned. “It’s a good thing I haven’t bred you—it’s dangerous for a pregnant female to fold.”

“It is?” I asked. I was still trying to understand the whole “folding space” and moving instantly from one galaxy to another thing.
