“I think we proved that this year,” Fynn said.
“Besides, who says we won’t all end up at the same university,” Micah added.
I choked. “Can you imagine? The Elite… in college. I think you guys would get us kicked out within the first month.”
Micah’s lip curled. “Something to look forward to.”
“I beg to differ. More like something to dread,” I muttered. But deep inside, the thought of going to the same university as the four of them filled me with warmth and excitement. Part of me really wanted to make that happen, and then I wouldn’t have to deal with the goodbyes. I don’t think I could ever say goodbye to them.
My heart would shatter.
The four of them were more than important to me. They were family. They were home. They were mine.
