“Have I ever let you down?” I asked.
“You don’t want me to answer that,” he said.
I knew he was referring to Kyleigh. Don’t worry, Finn. I disappointed myself, too.
“I spoke to them this morning. They’ll be there.” I heard the airline personnel announcing my flight. This is what I get for flying commercial instead of chartering a private jet. “I’ve got to go, Finn. Time to board. I’ll see you sometime tomorrow.”
“Have a safe flight,” he said.
I wasn’t worried about flying. It was all the downtime where I had nothing to do but think and miss Kyleigh that I wasn’t looking forward to.
Damn it. This is going to be a long-ass flight.
With luck, I’d be able to come up with a plan to see Kyleigh again.
