I crossed my arms and held my head high. “I am not for sake, Mr. Florraz.” Using his formal name wasn’t much of a stance, but it was all I could do at the moment without blowing my cover.
Jasper looked me from head to toe and then laughed deeply. “Don’t worry, Alysa, you’re not my type.”
Oh, that’s right. I’m American.
“Then what did you mean?” I asked.
“We’ll discuss it tonight. Please see yourself out.”
I gladly did as he said. Once out of the suite I muttered low so that only Burke could hear, “That man really dislikes the Hendersons.”
“Don’t worry about that. Just do your job. And let us know if you see anything out of the ordinary.”
I snorted. “Nothing about Jasper is ordinary. Will you be listening again tonight?”
“Yes. And I’ll have someone with me to answer any business questions he might have,” he replied. “Is there anything else?”
“Yeah. Congratulations. Your fiancée seems really nice.”
“Robin is amazing,” he agreed.
“Figured so if she puts up with you,” I half joked. “I’ll let you know when I’m on my way back to his suite.”
“Roger that.”
