As I call Kinsley, I watch Mandy text on her phone. I'm sure she’s telling everyone I'm okay and where she’ll be tonight. When her face turns angry while texting, I know she is texting my brother. Even though she’s mad, I can still see her love for him.
Someday. I tell myself. Someday I’ll find that.
"I knew I should have sent my sister. Those men need a good ball kicking," Kinsley says.
"Right now, I can’t agree with you more. I changed my plane ticket to the red-eye tomorrow night after the wedding, so I’ll be home earlier than expected."
"Good. Go home, sleep as long as you want and then when you wake up, call me. I’ll bring food, ice cream, and margaritas."
"Sounds perfect." I hang up just as room service gets here, and not only did Mandy order ice cream, but there is also chocolate cake too.
She hands me another glass of wine.
"Confession. I hate wine, but right now, knowing how much this is costing Nate, it's my favorite drink in the world." I smile and take a sip.
Then Mandy starts laughing. "Is that why you didn't drink at the bachelorette party? I wish you had said something. I'd have found you a drink!"
"It's fine. Who would have helped you girls to bed if I had been drinking?"
Just like that, we launch into giggles as we eat ice cream and watch TV. I start to feel better, and as much as I dislike Nate right now, I'm glad he's marrying Mandy and making her part of the family.
I just have to get through tomorrow.
