“I think we should go.” I grabbed my orange Knicks team hoodie and threw it on before I stood up and stepped next to Freddie’s stool. “Let’s get you a cab.” I grabbed his jacket and began to help him to put it on. His wobbling to the side wasn’t helping matters.

I slipped his other sleeve up his arm, but before I could pull him back enough to do it up, I felt the heat of his leg against my side. He lifted it and pressed it against my hip before I felt him slip his hand into the arse pocket of my jeans.

“Okay!” I laughed before I pulled back from him. “You’re in no condition for that.” I reached down and grabbed the zipper of his coat before I began pulling it up. I grabbed his phone and placed it in his pocket before I reached for his arm and lifted it over my shoulders. “Let’s get outside for a taxi.”

We stumbled our way to the doors, and I was grateful that the customers that were left remaining got out of our way. We tripped over the step as we got outside and thankfully, I kept us up on our feet.

He laughed as we straightened up before I felt him drop his head onto my shoulder.

I knew he was going to crash soon, and I had to get him home before that happened. I lifted my hand and flagged down a yellow cab. As we hobbled our way over to it, I tightened my grip on his hand, not wanting to drop him.

“Grab the door handle, Freddie,” I urged.

Thankfully, he reached down and opened it, flinging the door wide before I leaned him up against the cab. I slowly lowered him down and helped him inside before I turned to the driver.

“Take him home and I’ll —”

“What’s the address?” the driver asked, cutting me off.

“Address,” I muttered, repeating the word back to him. “What’s your address Freddie?” His head bobbed before he leaned to the side and rested his cheek against the glass. “Freddie!” I said, calling his name louder, but there was still no answer.

“Damn it.” I got in next to him before I leaned across him and straightened him up in his seat.

“Address,” the driver asked again, sounding borderline pissed off.

I repeated my address to him before I leaned my head back. As the driver pulled away, Freddie flopped his head to the side and rested it on my shoulder. His hand moved to my leg and I knew in no uncertain terms that I would go to Hell one day. I felt myself grow hard, and I knew that tonight was going to be a long fucking night.

We sat like that the whole car ride and as the driver pulled up, I didn’t have it in me to wait for my change.

“Keep the change,” I said before I handed over a twenty-dollar bill. “Let’s go.” I stood up and pulled Freddie out and to his feet. “Looks like you’re staying with me tonight.” I hauled him over to the door building. As I tried to figure out a way to get my keys out and squeeze him through the door, someone appeared and held the door open for us as he exited the building. “Thank you,” I muttered as I passed them.

I tried to ignore the way they looked at me as I carted the drunk in through the doorway. Some people were so full of themselves they often didn’t like to admit just how similar to the rest of us they were sometimes.

I pressed the button and waited for the elevator to arrive. No way was I carrying his weight up six flights of stairs. I’d most likely drop him and give him a head concussion. I watched as the numbers lit up above the door, signaling where the lift was. Seconds later, a ping sounded and the doors opened.

I quickly dragged him inside and pressed the button for my floor. I looked down at Freddie and shook my head at him. It may have felt like I was dragging his sleepy, dead weight, but as I looked down at him, I could see that his eyes were, in fact, open.

“We need to work on your alcohol levels.” I chuckled when he nodded his head, agreeing with me. I waited for a cocky response, but instead, he shocked the hell out of me.

He dipped his head and pressed an open-mouthed kiss to my neck, right over my pulse point. I could feel myself start to grow hard and before I knew it, my hands had wandered up his sides, and I was gripping him, holding him closer to me.

I shook my head, getting my mind back on track.

“Okay, none of that.” I patted his sides and pushed him back a little. “You are definitely not ready for that.” I took a step away so I could look in his eyes. I grinned as they were focusing on my lips. “Definitely none of that.”

The elevator beeped and as the doors opened, I watched him stumble a few steps before I grabbed his wrist and lifted it over my shoulder. He slowly wrapped his arm around my waist as we exited the elevator. I loved the feel of him touching me. One-night stands weren’t new to me, but I wanted more than that. I wanted more than one night with Freddie. I knew he was a playboy, but I wanted him to look at me and want more.

“Here we are.” We wobbled to the side. “Can you grab my keys? They are in my back pocket.” I waited while he slowly moved his hand and slipped them into my back jeans pocket. “Without groping my ass preferably,” I muttered sarcastically.

He flicked his drunken eyes up to me before he lifted his hand and dangled my keys in front of my face.

I quickly snatched them and turned to unlock the door.

“I never took you for a Daffy Duck fan,” he stated from behind me, mocking the keyring I had on my keys.

“Daffy is the best character in the Tunes.” I swung the door open before I turned back around and guided him in through the doorway. “Let’s get you into bed.”

“That was fast.” He chuckled at his own joke. “I mean, I knew fucking you was on the cards. I just didn’t expect to be seeing double when we actually did the deed.”
