Amused, she shrugged unabashedly, and finished the vows. “In my arms and my heart you will always be safe. You will always be home. I will love you every day for the rest of my life.”

Hunt was still grinning at her, barely spared a glance at the judge and said, “I can’t help it. I’m kissing her now.” He pulled her into him and kissed her while the judge announced, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. Kiss her all you want.”

Hunt did as their guests clapped and laughed.

Cyn was a little light-headed by the time Hunt ended the kiss with a soft brush of his lips to hers. “Mrs. Wilde,” he said reverently. “I love you.”

“I love you. Now you really are my Wilde man.”

“Always,” he assured her.

“And now, we have one more joining to make on this exciting and momentous day.” The judge held out the folder with the adoption papers. He handed the pen to Cyn. “Cyn Wilde, do you promise to love, protect, care for, support and encourage Lana all the days of your life?”

“I do,” she pledged, signing the document.

“Hunt Wilde, do you promise to love, protect, care for, support and encourage Lana all the days of your life?”

“I do.” Hunt signed the document.

Shelby handed Lana to Cyn, and she stood with Hunt and their daughter in front of the judge.

“You are now, and forever more, Lana Wilde’s mom and dad.” The judge motioned for them to turn to theirguests. “I present to you, Cyn, Hunt and Lana Wilde. A family made of love and devotion.”

Their guests clapped and Hunt kissed Cyn again, then they both kissed Lana on the head. Lana slept through the whole thing. But they had sweet pictures of everything, so one day when she was old enough to understand, they’d tell her the story of how her mom and dad met, married and promised to love each other, and her, forever.
