Page 69 of Fool Me Once

When we both come down from our orgasms, he pulls his finger and dick out at the same time, and I feel empty. Well, aside from his cum dripping out of me. Thank God for the shot. The last thing we need is another oops baby.

We both clean up then get dressed—me in my pajamas, and Keegan in his boxers that I found in my drawer. Then we get back into bed and Keegan pulls me into his arms.

“I missed this so much,” he says softly, giving my temple a kiss. I want to ask him, if he misses it so much then why did he say no to us moving in together, but I don’t. I’m not going to be that girl. The one who sounds desperate and needy. If he wanted to move in with me, he would. I just have to accept that I’m a few steps ahead of him and hope that eventually he’ll catch up.

“I missed this too,” I agree before I close my eyes and fall asleep.

Blakely

“Oh, Blakely!” Larissa pulls me into a warm, motherly embrace. “I’m so excited to spend some time with my grandson. Thank you for thinking of me.” Her eyes twinkle with excitement, and my heart swells at the thought of my son and me having an entire family of people who love us. Keegan and I only found our way back to each other six short weeks ago, yet it feels like we’ve been together for years. His family treats Zane, Sierra, and me like we’re one of them. His mom even turned Keegan’s childhood room into a room for Zane for when he spends the night or needs to take a nap. When she showed him the SpongeBob bedding she purchased, I thought he was going to beg to move into the room. I had to promise to buy him similar bedding to get him to come home.

It’s Valentine’s Day, and when Keegan asked if he could take me out, I told him I didn’t have a sitter. He asked how I’d feel about his parents—more specifically his mom—watching Zane tonight, since Kolton surprised Sierra and took her out of town for the weekend. Of course, I said yes. Larissa and Paul have been so sweet and welcoming since they found out about Zane and me. Just last week when Zane wasn’t feeling well—and this time it wasn’t allergies—Larissa offered to watch him at my place and refused to take no for an answer. After taking two crazy hard tests, I came home to find all our laundry done and dinner baking in the oven. I might’ve shed a couple tears and begged her to move in with me.

She laughed, of course, thinking I was joking—and I was… kind of. But then she told me she’s always here for me, anytime. It’s why she loves being retired. She gets to be there for her family.

“Grammy!” Zane runs through the door with his backpack on and Bear tucked under his arm. He plows into Larissa’s legs and she falls to the floor. For a second I think she really fell, but then she lifts Zane while on her back, and her laughter echoes throughout the house.

“Are we going to have fun tonight?” she asks him.

“Yes! I brought Hi Ho Cherry-o and Elefun!” he exclaims excitedly, pulling the backpack off his shoulders, unzipping it, and yanking the board games out. “Wanna play now?”

“Sure,” she tells him. “How about you say bye to your mom and dad and then we’ll set them up?”

“Bye, Mommy. Bye, Daddy.” Zane waves then runs over to the coffee table.

“Wow.” Keegan laughs. “My mom doesn’t acknowledge I’m here. No hug. Nothing. And my son barely says goodbye. I’m starting to feel a little left out.” He pouts, and I laugh at how adorably sexy he is.

“I’m so sorry, sweetie,” Larissa says, walking over and pinching his cheeks. She pulls him into a hug. “How about I come by your place and make you dinner? I can clean up and do your laundry. I can’t even imagine what a mess the place is.”

I snort out a laugh, then cover my mouth because I think she’s actually serious.

Keegan grins at me over her shoulder with laughter in his eyes. “That would be awesome, Mom.”

This time I can’t stop my laughter from bubbling out. Keegan glares, but the laughter in his eyes only shines brighter.

“Grammy!” Zane yells, and Larissa pulls away.

“Duty calls. Have a good time you two.” She kisses Keegan’s cheek then mine.

“Ready?” Keegan asks, grabbing my hand.

“You’re such a mama’s boy,” I joke.

“Damn right,” he agrees proudly.

“So what’s on the agenda for the evening, Mr. Valentine?” I waggle my eyebrows. “No blindfold, I see. I’m kind of disappointed.” I pout playfully, and Keegan pulls me into his side. The seat belt prevents me from sitting right up against him, but I’m close enough that he can throw his arm over my shoulder and kiss my temple.
