Marcus
Iwasn’t sure why I brought Piper to the library. Why didn't I just take her back to my room? Maybe because this was where all of our meaningful moments had happened? Like the time she almost fell off the ladder. Though, she seemed to have a habit of falling off things. This time it happened to be right into my arms.
“Where are we going?” Piper giggled holding onto my hand as I led the way. She took one look at the library and her eyes twinkled with mischief. “You’re an odd one, you know that?”
“I’ve been told that.” I smirked at her before backing her up against the nearest bookshelf to kiss her. Kissing Piper was like breathing air when I was alive. I didn’t need it. I had to have it. If Piper were the sun, then I would gladly stand in its rays and burn.
“I shouldn’t be doing this,” Piper said into my mouth, her hands going underneath the back of my shirt. “You’re my boss.”
I pulled away from her mouth and kissed down her cheek to her jaw and then her neck. “Technically, Antoine is your boss. He’s the one who pays you. I just reap the benefits.”
Piper angled her head to the side for me, letting out a long breathy moan. “Well, I can definitely say I am enjoying the job perks.”
She tugged on my shirt, a silent command to take it off. I couldn’t tell this woman no. Stripped of my shirt, Piper’s hands trailed up my muscles playing along the lines of my abs before tracing the edge of my jeans. I’d never been more hard in my life.
“So…do you take all the maids up to the library to talk?” She teased, her hands playing a game of hide and seek inside my pants.
When her hand wrapped around me, I almost blacked out. It’d been so long since I’d been with a woman I thought that I might not need that part of myself anymore. But standing here with the most beautiful woman in the world, her tiny hand playing up and down my length and I know I was wrong. So very wrong.
I gasped and braced my hands on the shelf behind her, leaning down so I could capture those tempting lips once more.
A part of me couldn’t believe this was happening. That I finally was going to be able to show Piper how much I cared for her. The other part of me was worried that this was moving too fast. Maybe she wouldn’t see me as partner material? Maybe this would be just a one time fling? Then I remembered Piper didn’t do that. She had never once showed me or any of the others that all she wanted was sex. I was sure she could get anywhere easily if she wanted to. No, Piper was in for the long haul.
“Where’s your head?” Piper asked out of the blue.
“What?” I opened my eyes to peer down at her. “I’m thinking about you.”
Piper smirked. “Are you though? ‘Cause your body is saying one thing and then your face is saying another. What are you thinking so hard about?”
I chuckled and kissed her on the nose. “I promise it’s all you, baby.”
“Well then,” Piper released my cock and ducked under my arms. She walked backward down the aisle. She pulled her shirt over her head and dropped it on the ground. “Prove it.” Before disappearing behind a shelf.
She wants to play huh? We could play.
I followed after her, picking up her shirt as I went. I turned around the shelf she had disappeared behind, half hoping she would be there and the other half hoping not to end the game just yet. When I found her pants on the ground, I wasn’t disappointed either way.
“Piper,” I called out, picking her jeans up. “You seem to be losing something.”
A giggle followed by, “Come find me,” was my only response.
I could have found her the old fashion way but I was a vampire and the blood rushing to my cock was telling me to hunt. I inhaled deeply taking in Piper’s scent. It was one I couldn’t get enough of. When Piper was aroused the whole house knew it and came running. Except for me, until now.
I followed the trail of her scent around another bookshelf and found a pale blue bra hanging from one of the books. I carefully took it off the book and brought it to my face, breathing in her intoxicating scent.
“I’m getting real concerned for you here,” I commented as I continued the hunt. “You seem to be losing clothing at an alarming rate. Should I just assume you mean to do so?”
Piper’s voice came from close by, low and sultry. “Only if you mean to catch me.”
I spun around expecting to see her behind me but the aisle was empty. She must be on the other side of this bookshelf. My lips ticked up in a grin and I hurried to get to the other side before she could leave.
I was too slow. All that remained of Piper were her panties which I stuffed into my pocket. Her scent was stronger now and if I wasn’t mistaken she was out of clothing to discard.
Moving around the next corner, I found her lounging on one of the couches in the back of the library. She had a book in her hand and was pretending to read it as I came closer. My eyes took their time as they moved down her body. This wasn’t the first time I’d seen Piper nude. However this time was different. This time she was mine.
“Are you just going to stare at me all day?” Piper asked, lowering the book down enough to peer over it. “Or are you going to touch me?“
I growled at her, my upper lip curling up and I almost flashed my fangs at her. I stopped. That’s right. I couldn’t show her my fangs because she didn’t know I was a vampire. Then I remembered this isn’t the Piper who knew all our darkest secrets and were okay with it. This woman before me had no idea who or what I was. I couldn’t even be myself when making love to her.
“Marcus?” Piper sat up on the couch, the teasing gone from her face. “What’s wrong?” When I didn’t answer, she walked toward me completely confident in her naked body as she cupped my face. “What is it?”
I peered into her eyes wanting so much to go back to a few minutes ago when everything was fine. They weren’t fine. And they wouldn’t be fine until this whole ordeal was over. I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t pretend that she was the Piper I loved. She looked like her and talked like her but she wasn’t the real deal.
“I can’t. Not here. Not like this.” I pulled away from her hands and dropped her clothes before her before turning on my heel. I didn’t bother finding my shirt as I stalked out of the library slamming the door soundly behind me.
What kind of idiot am I?
