"No," Marcus's low rumbling voice sent another wave of pleasure through me.
I shook it off and grabbed my pants, deciding to just go without. "Fine. Keep them. I have others."
Marcus made an amused sound as if they too might end up in his belongings eventually. At this rate, it was damn well likely.
"Okay," I breathed, "I'm dressed. Let's go."
The two of them followed me off the bed and to the door. My legs felt a bit like a calf learning to walk, but I was determined to have a clear mind, so maybe I could revisit this again tonight. If Marcus was that good at this, then he had to be even better at the rest of it, right?
Smiling to myself, I slipped my hand into Allister's and then into Marcus's. They both looked at me surprised, but didn't pull away. We walked down the hallway hand in hand toward the stairs. We could still hear the voices of those we had left behind in the living room, and the way Antoine was sounding, it wasn't going well.
"Think we should go break it up?" I peered at the two of them, not waiting for their answer as I released their hands to walk down the stairs. Each step caused my pants to rub against my sensitive clit, and I grabbed the banister for dear life.
Allister chuckled behind me, earning him a glare.
"It's not funny."
"Piper? Are you calm now?" Antoine called out to me from the living room.
Sighing, I finished walking the rest of the way down the stairs to answer. Before I had a chance to respond, the doorbell rang for the second time in one day. We were becoming the place to be. Shifting slightly, my legs a bit wobbly, my eyes went to Marcus as a zing of pleasure reminded me of what we had just done.
"Do you really want to answer that?" Allister leaned against the banister. "I mean, it went so well the first time." He jerked his head toward the stain on the floor where Jack's body had once been.
"Oh, come on." I smiled back at him. "Things can't get any worse."
"Great." Drake snorted. "You just had to say that. Of course, things are going to get worse now."
I rolled my eyes. "Hey, I could still kill Morpheus." I grinned at the club owner. "That would make everything today better."
"Piper," Antoine warned though his lips ticked up at the sides. "We aren't killing anyone today."
Scoffing, I reached for the door handle. "Don't say that until we know who is on our doorstep."
"True," Rayne agreed with a grin.
My grin spread wider as I turned to the open door. I sagged and frowned at who stood before me. "Damn, Drake. You were right."
"Hello, Piper." Vincent, the president and leader of the vampire hunters smiled at me arrogantly from in front of a black limo. His black curls shined with too much product as his dark eyes lit up with amusement. "I believe you wished to speak to me. Something about a vampire council?"
I frowned and stepped toward the limo cautiously. "How did you know about that?"
"I bugged your home, of course." His grin broadened as his gaze shifted over my shoulder. "Please do not fret for your vampire lover's safety. I have explained to Mizuki it was all a misunderstanding, he will be safe from harm."
I crossed my arms over my chest and stopped before him. "What's the catch?"
"Why must there be a catch, my dear?" His grin was almost as bright as the light shining off the two diamond studs in his ears. Too bad, I wasn't buying it.
"There's always a catch with you. What do you want in return?"
"Piper be careful," Rayne called out behind me. "He is trying very hard to keep his mind blank right now."
I waved him off and narrowed my eyes on Vincent. "So? What is it?"
Vincent held the limo door open for me with a gentlemanly bow. "Let us take this conversation elsewhere, and I would be happy to ease all your fears."
The ball of tension behind me was palpable. The guys were not going to let me go anywhere with him on my own. I didn't particularly want to go with him either. Unfortunately, I didn't know what other choices I had.
"And where would we go?" I inquired, cocking my head to the side. "What can't you say to me here where I am protected? Why do we need to be alone?"
