I shrugged a shoulder. "They're both about the same in looks, I guess. Obviously, our boss has more money. But it's not about that."
"What is it then?"
"I don't want to be that girl," I began, looking at her pointedly. "The one who can't be faithful unless her man is around all the time. We were assigned here without knowing how long we would be here or when we'd get to go back. Plus, he's off...doing business elsewhere. He might never come back."
"Do you love him?" Trudy asked abruptly. "In my experience, love is worth waiting for, but if you don't..."
Pausing for a long moment, I stared hard at my coffee. Did I love Antoine? It was hard to say. Could I love more than one person? If not, then was I wrong to keep them all? That didn't necessarily mean I loved Darren either. I was just feeling...weird.
"Then, give yourself a break." Trudy pushed off the counter and nodded. "You're in an impossible situation. Anything can happen, and until they do, don't stress. You'll get wrinkles." She winked at me before turning to go help a customer who had just entered.
"Don't stress," I muttered to myself as I sipped from my cup and then snorted. "Yeah. Like that was going to happen."
