He kissed her long after they were finished. “How could I ever get bored of this?” he asked.
“Men get bored.”
“Boring men get bored,” he said. “I’m not a boring man, and when it comes to you, Raven, there is nothing I want more than to be with you.”
There was a knock on his office door, and he groaned.
“You’re not boring, remember?” she asked.
“I told them no interruptions.”
“Which means it’s important,” Raven said. “I need to go use the bathroom.”
Carlos pulled out of her and grabbed some tissues from the desk, handing them to her.
He wanted to stay inside her, to give his cum a chance to stick. She had to be pregnant by now. She hadn’t had a cycle, but he couldn’t be sure.
Carlos used some tissues to clean away his excess cum, tucked himself back into his pants, and then called for whoever it was to enter.
He saw it was Sebastian marching toward him.
“Where’s Raven? Send her back home.”
Carlos put a finger to his lips and nodded toward the bathroom door that was closed, but he knew if she wanted to hear what was going on, she’d be able to.
Sebastian nodded. “Fine.” He reached into his jacket pocket and handed him a sheet of paper.
Carlos glanced over it and saw that Sebastian had indeed found what he needed. The proof that Paolo Fiore was plotting his death. A single payment to an amateur bounty hunter. Someone young with everything to prove. Not only that, but Fiore had also started to make payments to several accounts.
He saw that at least three of those payments had been sent back.
There was another name, and Carlos smirked.
“What would you like me to do?” Sebastian asked.
Carlos looked toward the bathroom. If he got Sebastian to handle this, it meant Raven wasn’t needed. She was waiting for Fiore to strike.
He didn’t want her to figure out what had happened. Lying to her also didn’t sit well with him either. He was already lying to Smokey about bringing her here, and also the reason why he had yet to fuck her in her ass. Crude, but he wanted to know she was pregnant with his kid first.
“I need…” He tapped his fingers against his leg. “I need to find out if Raven is pregnant.”
Sebastian looked at him. His gaze was wide, but nothing gave way to what he was thinking. “Pregnant?”
“Yes. That is what I want you to handle.” Carlos handed him back the piece of paper. “Burn it.”
“You’re putting your life on the line, Carlos.”
“I know how to handle those two fucking bastards,” Carlos said.
“Don’t get too cocky about this. You’ve been distracted lately.”
“Raven is going to be my wife. Her place is by my side.”
Sebastian chuckled. “I can see that making you see reason is pointless. You’re still determined to make this … work?”
“Raven’s mine. I will not marry anyone else. Make all the arrangements to guarantee it,” Carlos said.
“And if she’s not pregnant?”
“Then I’ve got a lot of work to do.” Carlos nodded toward the door, and he knew he’d pissed off Sebastian. He hadn’t been neglecting his duties. When it came to dealing with Fiore and Marchetti, the time would be more than right.
He should have known Marchetti was going to be a problem. He’d enjoyed Garofalo a little too much.
As for Fiore, he always figured it was a risk making a greedy son a capo. He was willing to risk it for the good of the outfit, but now, he was going to have to make sure he took care of them at his own pace.
He and Raven had already been handed an invite for a special dinner with Fiore. That had to be the day he intended to kill him.
Sebastian left his office, and Raven came out of the bathroom.
“I don’t think Drago likes me very much,” Raven said.
“He thinks you’re a distraction.”
“Am I?” She leaned against his desk.
“I wouldn’t say you’re a complete distraction.” He went to reach for her, but Raven stepped out of his reach.
“I’m not supposed to get in the way of your work, Carlos. You know that.”
“I know that you’re a distraction I want, Raven. I’m dealing with work. Don’t worry about Sebastian. He has his own issues to deal with.”
Raven sighed. “Fine, but has he at least found who put the hit out on you?”
Carlos looked at her, knowing this was his chance to tell her the truth. “No, he still has a trail to follow. He has a few leads.”
“Why don’t you let me call the club? I can figure this out, and then we can handle this fucker that wants to take your spot.”
Carlos smiled. “Worried about me?”
“My job is to protect you.”
“And you’re doing a great job of it, but trust me, we’ll figure this out before you know it.” He got to his feet. “Now, I’ve got to go and take care of some business downstairs.”
