“Mike. I know I tell you this all the time, but the landscaping is looking amazing. Presley is talking about hosting another community fair out here next month.”
“Thanks, Edison. You’re looking dapper as always,” Mike said, watching Rayne even as he spoke to Edison. Mike leaned toward him, and Rayne felt his knees weaken as Mike took a long inhale near his throat. “And you… you smell like this flower.”
“Um, okay. This is… not appropriate on your first day and in front of your boss, Rayne.” Edison laughed gently beside them.
“Have a good first day,” Mike rumbled, ignoring Edison as he handed Rayne the rose, then turned and walked away without looking back.
That fucking guy is gonna be the end of me.
“Wow. Déjà vu.” Edison shook his head as if he was just as mesmerized as Rayne. “There’s just something about those damn Stockley men, huh? All charm. And it doesn’t hurt they hit the gene lottery. At least I know how hot Bishop will look in twenty years.”
Rayne could almost imagine what was in those jeans, and he wanted it. Edison managed to get them moving toward the door because Rayne was too distracted as he held the fragrant flower to his nose.
Mike Stockley. Mmmm. Oh, there’s something about him, all right. He’s an exceptional man. Something Rayne believed that very few people knew about and even less were fortunate enough to see it.
