Creed
Tension and frustration. I felt so much of it every day that I went to work. It kept building with every shift. I’d been in Kas’ shop for two weeks, working with her side by side and wanting her more and more each day.
She was smart, fierce, determined, and gave as good as she got. The guys ribbed her, and she ribbed them right back. When I wasn’t at the garage or moving into my new home, I was spending time with Simon. He came over every Friday night and spent the weekend with me while Amber went and did whatever she wanted to do.
“What are you doing this weekend, Creed?” Tony asked as we worked on an old VW Bug for a client. We took off the top and extended to the front to make her into a hot bug rod.
“Spending time with my kid.”
“Oh, Ace and I were going out for drinks at Deviance tonight after work, so we were going to see if you wanted to come?”
“What’s Deviance?” I asked as I pulled on my gloves getting ready to solder the new windshield to the bug.
Tony grinned. “Only heaven on earth. Club Deviance is a local secret. You have to be invited in by someone who’s been invited in. It’s a sex club, more or less. Basically, you can watch, partake, and experience any kind of kink you’re in to. Everyone there is looking for something.”
“I think I’ll pass. That sounds like an STD waiting to happen.”
Tony scoffed. “Nah, man, it ain’t like that. Every month when your membership renews, you have to give a certification of being clean. Plus, everyone has to wear rubbers in the club, unless the person you’re with is a spouse.”
“Not my scene, Tony, but thanks for the invite.”
“Your loss.” He shrugged, “Hey, Kas. You want to go to Deviance tonight?”
“Sure,” she said, making me almost drop the fucking soldering gun I was holding., “And afterward I’ll make an appointment to get a colonoscopy. It sounds like so much fun.”
I relaxed my shoulders. My stomach slowly unknotting after hearing her say she was going to go to a sex club. I clenched my teeth hard to keep from decking Tony for even inviting her there with him and Ace. If she had said yes and meant it, I was going to figure out where the damn club was and bring her home, even if I had to carry her over my shoulder. There was no way in hell I’d sit by and let Kassandra go into a club looking for sex when I could give her all the pleasure she could ever handle.
“So, you got a boner for the boss?”
I ignored the asshole, choosing not to confirm or deny what I felt for Kassandra.
“She’s ice, man. You don’t want her to freeze your dick off. None of us are good enough for Kayson Storm’s twin sister.”
“Kayson Storm, the stock car driver?”
“Yep. That’s why you might as well get over your boner and find somewhere else to stick your dick. She’s never gonna give you the time of day.”
“Tony, you’re an idiot and a kid, so I’ll let you in on a little secret. Not all pussy is the same. The only men that think that are the ones that have no idea what good pussy is. Now, quit your shit and get back to work.”
I could live with the blue balls that working with Kassandra sent me home with every night. What I couldn’t stand was this asshole shooting his mouth off.
“Ace,” I called out for Tony’s friend, who seemed to have a little more sense than his friend did.
“Yeah,” the kid came running like I was the boss, and that grated on my nerves, too. This was Kassandra’s shop, not mine, but the second my ass stepped into this job, these bozos were looking at me to take the reins from her.
“I need to step out for a minute. Can you finish this up with Tony?”
“Yeah.”
I let him take over and made my way inside the office. Ariel was out front at her desk studying, so I went into the smaller office that we used for breaks. I was sitting with my elbows on my knees looking at the tile floor—staring at nothing in particular.
“You okay?”
My eyes slid shut, and I took a deep breath. I hated the way they treated her. She was the boss, and she deserved better than to be called ice. “Yeah, just had to get away from Tony before I decked him.”
She let out a half laugh and moved in front of me to lean against the desk. “Been there. I’d have fired him a long time ago, but I needed the help, and finding a mechanic isn’t the easiest thing to do in a small town. They’re all working somewhere already. I got lucky I found you as quickly as I did, and that the other shops didn’t snap you up.”
I looked up the length of her body and into her eyes.God, she was incredible.“I didn’t apply anywhere else in town. I’m not interested in rotating tires or just changing oil. I wanted to transform neglected or outdated cars and make them beautiful again.”
