“He’s not ready to go against us yet,” Wylder said. “He knows the implications if he so much as even laid his hand on any of us. Even Mercy as long as she’s with us.”
“Did you notice the strange men who joined him at the end?” I asked.
“Yeah.” Gideon rubbed his forehead. “What the fuck was up with them?”
My gut said it was nothing good.
Wylder looked deep in thought. “He’s definitely brought in more people for backup. I’m not sure who they are, but I don’t think they were from around here. He’s biding his time while he gathers more manpower.”
“I don’t like it,” Rowan said.
“Me neither.” Wylder grimaced. “I don’t know what he thinks he’s got up his sleeve, but we’d better shut him down before he pushes this power grab of his even one step farther.”
