“They’re okay. But they miss their mom. Poor little tykes have each other and it helps. I’ve set up a plan to get the kids out tomorrow. We’ll be flying from Marmaris, Turkey. Sam, your brother, will contact you with the arrangements.” She spoke with a teasing note in her voice when she mentioned Sam.

“You’ve met him?”

“Oh, yeah.”

“He’s, ahh… pretty special. He’ll protect you and the kids, Sophia. If you need help, you won’t find a better man.”

Sophia’s heart swelled with emotion. Sissy was right. There was no better man. At least, not for Sophia.

“Yep. He’s a keeper. Talk soon. Bye.” She sat for a few moments and let her imagination run rampant with the memories of their latest time together.

Heart lighter, heading for the kitchen, she plugged in the kettle and made sure it had enough water for several cups of coffee. Feeling in the need of a stimulant to be able to help her through this nightmare, she turned and surveyed the work of psychopaths who took enjoyment in hurting others.

Feeling dirty just being in the same room, she put on a pair of gloves, swallowed the disgust, and got busy.
