“What did your mom and dad say?”
She tucked her head down, burying her head against my chest.
“Shit, you haven’t told them, have you?”
“No, of course not. You know my them. Dad will swoop in and take over my entire life. There is a reason why they don’t know I’m here, Asher. I just need time to figure out my plan.”
Her dad wasn’t the only one that would swoop in. If I had my way, I’d call my personal lawyer and have this entire mess cleaned up overnight. There was no reason Addison would need to worry about the next step. She could do whatever she wanted.
Thinking it over, I knew a couple of magazines that would love her pictures.
“Mom and Dad are going to be pissed to learn I kept this from them, aren’t they?” she asked, those doe eyes staring up at me.
“Yeah, beautiful. They’re your parents. They want to protect you.”
“I’m not a child anymore.”
“I know.” I kissed her forehead, savoring her breathy sigh as she leaned into me, her arms wrapping around my waist. “Want to get some of that ice cream?”
“Yeah. Then I want in your tubs.”
“You can use them anytime.”
