“Girl, get out of here,” he warned.

With a startled yelp, she closed the door bathroom. He shook his head.

Brat.

After peeing and cleaning up, he stomped into the other room.

Where was she?

He was going to give her a damn good scolding. Glancing around, he found her crouched on the other side of the bed.

“You’re in such trouble, little girl.” He jumped onto the bed and she let out a startled cry, scuttling around the corner of the bed on her hands and knees. Which made her ass wiggle delightfully. He slapped it lightly and she let out a startled yelp.

Shit. Fuck.

Then she giggled again and shock filled him.

So maybe he didn’t scare her. At. All.

Mind you . . . he hadn’t told her who he really was. And she didn’t have the best sense of self-preservation.

Plus, he’d been keeping his darker side back. Even when he’d taken care of those assholes in the alleyway, he’d restrained himself. Not because he cared about those dicks, they’d deserved everything they’d gotten.

And eventually, he’d dealt with them.

Now, they would never hurt another woman.

Yeah, they’d definitely deserved what they’d gotten. But he was glad now that he’d held back. He was certain she wouldn’t be here with him if she knew what he was capable of. That he’d gone after those assholes who’d grabbed her and taken them out after torturing their friend.

Nope, he knew she’d freak out.

There was no way she’d trust him in her space.

As she tried to crawl away to the sofa, he jumped off the bed and scooped her up. She squealed, laughing and trying to fight him off.

“Shh,” he warned. “We don’t want your neighbors calling the cops.”

“Nobody around here calls the police.”

Fuck. He didn’t like the reminder of where she lived. He dumped her down onto the bed and climbed over her. Then he pinned her hands to the bed above her.

He watched her carefully for any hint that she was scared. But she just stared up at him, her eyes dancing.

“Do you like being pinned down, girl?” he asked.

“I don’t know . . . I think so.”

“You’ve never been bound? Never had someone tie you up?”

“No, but it sounds fun.”

He blinked, staring down at her. “You’re not scared?”

“Oh. I’m meant to be? Then no, that doesn’t sound like fun and I’d rather not. Thank you.”

“So polite for such a naughty girl,” he said. “Not tonight, but maybe when you trust me more.”

“I trust you a lot, considering I just met you,” she whispered. “Bit spooky, really. I don’t usually let strange men into my place.”
