Ella
Ella watched as sexy Ethan Jacobs stepped free from the private elevator that brought him up to his top-floor office. She had known Ethan for years and apparently, only the best would suffice for him. It was one of the reasons she was called to West Investments—she was the best. Ella was just hoping that Ethan was finally going to give her the chance to prove that she was good at more than just security. God, the man was walking sin in a suit and all she could think about was how good he probably looked underneath it. His tailor-made suits left nothing to the imagination with the way they hugged his bulging muscles and other bulges a lady didn’t talk about. But Ella wasn’t a lady—not by any stretch of the imagination.
Ethan smiled and met her halfway across the big conference room she was asked to wait in. He reached out to take her hand into his and God, she felt the caress of his touch down in her core. What was it about this man that made her want to do sinfully wicked things on his conference room table—glass walls be damned?
“So good to see you again, Ella,” he said looking her body up and down. Ella was damn happy that she had taken the time to fix her hair and make-up before meeting with Ethan—even opting for her sexy black heels that made her feel every inch of confidence she now exuded. Yeah, Ethan was checking her out and she was fine with it. She welcomed his attention since she had been trying to get it for so long now.
“You too, Ethan,” she purred. “Although I’m not thrilled about the hour, I’m happy to take a meeting with you.”
“Yeah—sorry about the three in the morning wake-up call but I need your help.” Ethan’s business partner, Lincoln West, joined them and the conference room and Ella suddenly felt way too hot. She had never met the guy, but his sexy smile and sun-kissed skin made his blue eyes look even bluer than the picture she had seen plastered all over the front pages of the local gossip magazines. He was listed as one of Atlanta’s most eligible bachelors and she could see the appeal. Number five on the list of men with money and looks in the area was still holding her hand in his and staring her down as if waiting for her to swallow her damn tongue.
“Ella, this is Lincoln West, my business partner,” Ethan introduced them.
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. West,” Ella said, suddenly very aware of how nervous she sounded.
“Pleasure is all mine, Ella. Please, call me Linc,” he offered. Ella nodded and released his hand.
“What can I do for you gentlemen?” she asked getting right down to business. It was what she was good at and right now, she needed a distraction from the two sexy alphas who were crowding her personal space.
“My penthouse was broken into, and I need my security overhauled. Ethan says your firm is one of the best in Atlanta,” Linc said.
Ella shot Ethan a smile, “The best, actually,” she challenged. Ethan threw back his head and laughed and she was sure it was the sexiest thing she’d ever witnessed. His dark hair fell over one eye and she imagined that was how Ethan would look when he came—but that wasn’t why she was there and thinking about Linc or Ethan coming wasn’t going to land her the job.
“How soon can you start?” Linc asked. He stared her down like she was going to be his next meal and Ella wasn’t sure if she should run and hide or throw herself at the blond god.
“Um, I’d have to check with my assistant but I’m sure we can squeeze you in soon,” she promised.
“I’d appreciate that, Ella,” he said. “Thank you for taking the time to come out in the middle of the night.”
“Of course,” Ella said, feeling a bit dismissed. “If that will be all, I’ll show myself out,” she offered.
“Wait,” Ethan growled. “One more thing before you go.”
