Taz

Hearing Kai admit that she wanted him made him instantly hard. It had been a damn long time since he wanted a woman as much as he wanted her. Sure, he’d find little bar flies, who were hoping to become his Ol’lady, hanging around the Smokey Bandits. And once in a while, he’d take one of them home, promising them a good time for one night only. It worked out for him, usually. Everyone got what they wanted and there were no hurt feelings when he didn’t call the woman the next day. He didn’t date and he didn’t do relationships. Taz had a feeling that Kai was a relationship kind of girl, and he knew to avoid those like the plague.

“Are you going to say something?” she challenged. He shook his head. What was there to say? He wasn’t going to win either way.

“Um, thank you,” he breathed.

“Ha, ha,” she hissed. “Now I see why the guys all call you Joker,” she said. “You’re so funny, Taz. Here I pour my heart and soul out to you, and you make fun of me?” He was acting like an ass, and he usually chose humor over having to face down hard to handle feelings, but she was really throwing him for a loop here.

“I’m not sure what you want from me, honey,” he said. “I have no heart or soul to give back to you,” he insisted. That was the truth, but it was also something that he never liked to talk about. It was another one of his deep, dark secrets, and even Ryker didn’t know this one.

“Don’t be silly,” Kai said. “Everyone has a heart and a soul,” she insisted. She closed the distance between them and put her hand over his heart. It already felt as though it might beat out of his damn chest but having her touch him the way that she was didn’t help matters.

“I want for you to be honest with me, Taz. Just tell me how you feel.” God, feelings were the last thing that he wanted to talk about.

“I feel hard because you’re touching me,” he joked. She smiled up at him and slowly ran her hand down his body to cup his cock.

“You want to joke around, I’ll play,” she said. He wanted to play with her, but that was all she’d end up getting from him.

“I don’t think that you’ll like the way that I play, little girl,” he growled. She ran her fingers over the seam of his erection as if tracing the outline through his pants.

“Oh, I’m not too sure about that, Taz. I think that I’d love to play with you,” she insisted.

“I’m not a relationship kind of guy, Kai. If you’re looking for a boyfriend, I’m not the man for you. But if you truly want to play, I can do that. We can play for a night—but that’s where this will end. I won’t give you a second night, it’s not the way that I do things. This is a one-night, and one-night-only offer,” he said. “Take it or leave it.” He was out of his mind for offering her even that, but his cock was obviously in control now.

“I’ll take it,” she whispered.

“What about the cooking lesson?” he asked, looking back over everything that she had bought. Kai released his cock and he wanted to protest. She quickly put away the cold food and left the rest sitting on the kitchen counter.

“It will keep,” she insisted. “This won’t.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him down the hallway to her bedroom.

He stilled in the doorway, and she turned back to look at him as if expecting him to change his mind. “Be sure about this Kai,” he insisted. “We both have to work at the same place after this is all over. I don’t want there to be any hurt feelings between the two of us.” Taz liked his job, but more than that, he loved his club and the guys in it. He wouldn’t want any animosity between him and Kai making anyone uncomfortable.

“As I said in the kitchen, we were never really friends, Taz. You can go back to shouting at me to get out of your kitchen, and I can go back to wondering why you’re such an ass. Does that work for you?” she asked.

“It does,” he agreed. “But you’re still wrong about the friend’s thing,” he insisted. She rolled her eyes at him, and he let her lead him the rest of the way into her room. Kai climbed up onto her bed and patted the spot next to her. For the first time in his adult life, he wondered what he should do next. He wanted to strip her bare and take her. That’s usually how things went with women that he brought home from the bar, but no matter how many times he told himself that she was just one of those girls, she wasn’t. Kai was different, even if he was trying to block that fact out of his very muddled brain right now.

“It’s just me, Taz,” she whispered. He sat down next to her on her bed, and she practically climbed onto his lap. “I want to see you,” she breathed. He kissed her as she playfully tugged his shirt up his body, revealing his tattoos to her. The way that she studied them, tracing them with her fingers, made him hot.

“Your beautiful,” she whispered. He didn’t want to waste another second not seeing her. Taz pulled her t-shirt up her body and revealed that she wasn’t wearing a bra. God, she was so fucking sexy. He ran his hands over her taut nipples, tugging each one playfully.

“You are too, Kai,” he said. He wasn’t about to admit to her that he dreamed of what she’d looked like naked or if she’d be enough to fill his hands—she was. That wasn’t what tonight was about, and he just needed to keep that in mind while he gave her what he promised her.

Taz laid Kai back onto the bed and worked her leggings and panties down her legs, leaving her completely bare for him to look over. She was just as he imagined she’d be and so much more because now, she was a hot, willing woman under his body.

“Condoms are in the top drawer,” she said, nodding back to her bedside table. “Plus, I’m on the pill. Can’t be too careful.” He could tell that she was trying to downplay what was happening between the two of them. He knew from the way that she looked at him that Kai could feel everything that he was feeling when he touched her.

“Right,” he breathed. He stood from the bed and found the stash of condoms that she kept in her nightstand. Kai sat up and watched as he finished stripping, loving the way that her breath hitched when she saw his erection.

“You’re big,” she whispered.

“Well, you did just have your hands on him,” he said, rolling on the condom.

“Right, but through your jeans, I couldn’t tell that you were that big.”

“I’m not sure what you want me to say, here again, honey. I think that I should thank you again, but you didn’t seem to like that last time I said it.”

“No,” she breathed, “it works in this situation.”
