“Yeah—I mean, I love you and you did say that you love me. I want to spend my life with you, Kai.”
“Oh, Taz,” she breathed. “I’ll marry you on one condition,” she said.
“What’s that?”
“We have a small ceremony at the courthouse and then, you take me to Paris for a honeymoon. I want to see it through your eyes,” Kai said.
“That sounds like a plan to me,” he agreed. Taz quickly kissed her and released Kai to Ryker. “Keep her safe, man,” he ordered.
“You know I will,” Ryker promised. He watched as they disappeared upstairs and then followed the detective to the basement.
“You ready for this?” the detective asked.
“As I’ll ever be,” Ryker grumbled, sitting down in the wooden chair where he had found Kai bound earlier. He just wanted to get this shit show over with so that he could get on with keeping his promises to his woman. He had a happily ever after to deliver, and he planned on making that happen for the both of them.
