He didn’t expect to last long, not with her sweet pussy squeezing him tight, but he felt the tingle even faster than he’d anticipated.
“Come for me, beautiful.” He released her hand and slid his finger back and forth over her clit.
“Oh my God. Don’t stop.” She stilled, her body stiff as he rubbed twice more and she began to shake and tremble around him. He felt every quake of her body and he thrust up and into her. His orgasm hit hard and he came harder, his climax pushing her into another one that had her falling on top of him, their sweaty bodies sticking together.
He wrapped an arm around her back as they caught their breath.
She rolled off him with a groan. “Sex in the heat and humidity is great in the moment. Not so amazing after.” She laughed as she grabbed a towel.
After they’d cleaned up as well as they could and dressed again, she lay back against the lounge. Throughout their days here, he’d kept his focus on Jade. It was time for him to give her another reminder.
He rolled to his side and placed his hand on her still-flat stomach where their baby grew. “As unexpected as this is, I’m glad it’s happening with you.”
She turned her head to face him. “Really?”
He loved her. Was this the right time to say so? Would she believe him? He moved in closer. “Really, Jade. I love you.”
Her eyes filled and she swallowed.
He didn’t expect her to say it back, but the fact that she was here and not running? He considered that a huge win. And he was a man who counted wins.
She reached over and slipped her hand in his, and it was enough. For now.

When they boardedAsher’s plane the next day, Jade was still reeling from hearing those three little words come from Knox. I love you. They’d been said to her before, but never with such intensity or passion. She knew how special Knox was, and it had been on the tip of her tongue to say the words back. But he deserved to hear them when they came free from baggage.
For the first time, she believed she might be on her way.
She glanced at Knox as he hooked his seat belt beside her.
Noticing her staring, he grinned and treated her to a wink that had her stomach turning over in a wonderful way. She was grateful for their three glorious days on the island. With no one to bother them, she’d gotten to know Knox better. The patience she’d seen him display with his sister was truly a part of him, and he extended it to the way he treated her. It made her more certain that, for the first time, she’d picked a good man.
No man had ever planned a meal around her and her needs. Their last night had been fun, and despite her nausea, she’d enjoyed bites of the unexpected waffles and the ice cream that had followed.
As she buckled her own seat belt, she thought about the lifestyle changes she’d need to make and the people she’d have to tell about her pregnancy. That thought sent her stomach from good churning to nervous roiling.
As if he sensed something was wrong, Knox grasped her hand and squeezed tight. She smiled to reassure him, then shut her eyes for takeoff. She fell asleep and didn’t wake up until the pilot let them know they were starting their descent.
“Almost there,” Knox said.
She nodded. “Did I mention Asher is meeting us at the airport?” She hadn’t been able to talk her brother out of his plan, despite her best efforts.
“Of course he is,” Knox said. To her surprise, he let out a low chuckle. “We need to tell him and the rest of your family about the baby. Not to mention Holly.”
Jade didn’t want to insult him, but she’d given this some thought and bit down on her lower lip before filling him in. “I was hoping I could do that myself. I don’t think it’s fair to subject you to the firing squad.”
“Do you think I’d let you face them without me?” He threaded their fingers together.
If he meant to reassure her, his insistence did the opposite. “I’m not sure I’m ready to see Asher and Zach make a mess of your handsome face.” Though she tried to make light of the subject, she wasn’t kidding.
Nick and Harrison were more likely to deal with Knox using their words. But her older two brothers were better with their fists. And her father? She winced just thinking about him finding out his daughter was unmarried and pregnant by Asher’s close friend.
“You think I’m handsome?” Knox treated her to his sexiest grin, making her both laugh and roll her eyes. Of course he’d pick out that part of her statement.
“I promise I can handle anything your brothers dish out. Now relax while we land. I’ll handle everything,” he said.
“Right. I’ll let the big, strong man fight my battles,” she muttered. From the moment she’d found out she was pregnant, she’d let her thoughts and her life spiral.
