Ledger let out a loud laugh. “You don’t mind the skirt on anyone else.”

“I don’t mind it on her, I mind anyone else seeing her in it,” he shot back.

I raised a brow. “Why do I need leggings?”

Henry snorted quietly, “I’m sure Anani is just worried about you getting cold.”

“Oh, that’s sweet,” I smiled, “don’t worry though, I’ll be okay.”

Anani growled quietly as Ledger passed out our drinks. I took mine, a dark blended color, and sipped it. I made a sound of contentment at the sweetness that exploded within my mouth.

“Good?” Ledger tossed back a look.

“Amazing,” I sighed and tapped Anani’s shoulder while leaning forward.

He looked back and grinned at me. “Yes, peanut?”

“What does yours taste like?”What? I was curious!

He smirked as he said, “not as sweet as yours, I like my coffee bitter.”

I frowned. “Why? Sweet things are the best.”

Ledger snickered. “He knows that. It’s just his metaphorical cold shower right now.”

“Cold shower? Are you hot?” I wondered out loud. “You could take off your shirt I’m sure.”

Henry sputtered as Ledger started laughing a deep chuckle. “Yes Anani, why don’t you take off your shirt?”

Anani tossed him a scowl before giving me a playful smile. “You want me to take off my shirt?”

“Of course,” I rationalized, “you’re hot.”

Anani bit his lip, holding back a smile, “thanks, peanut, I’ll be sure to remember that.”

I flushed at the heat in his eyes. Well, now I really wanted to see him without a shirt on. I wanted to trace those tattoos.

Ledger hit the back of his head. “Shut it, Casanova.”

“Is that his real name?” I asked Henry. He racked his hand through his soft blonde curls with a head shake and small smile.

I continued, “that would be very neat if it was. Giacomo Girolamo Casanova is a very well known historic author from what I’ve read.”

Henry flashed me a smile. “You know about Casanova?”

“I’ve read a lot,” I noted. “Most of it about history, but you have to learn the past to understand the present.”

Something sparked like a firework in his gray eyes as both boys up front groaned. “Now, you’ve done it, firefly.”

What?

“Come on,” Henry whispered as the twins bickered. We were at school and quickly hopped out. I frowned and thought about how I would pay the twins back for my coffee.

“Henry?” I asked quietly, his hand still in mine. “Can you help me find a job?”

Henry’s cheeks grew pink and a soft smile came onto his lips, “I’m sure we can find you something, but the boys don’t think it’s a good idea for you to work in town.”

I frowned, “well why not?”
