There’s no need to explain things. I did what I had to do. Downstairs, the mistress is in the kitchen wearing a robe and making coffee.

“Do you have somewhere to go?” I ask. “Clean-up team will be here shortly.”

She taps her spoon against the side of her mug. “Do I have to leave?”

I consider her request for a moment. It’s not as if the crew will do anything worse than I’ve already done. They’re just here to erase the evidence. “No.”

She gives me a sunny smile. “Then I’ll stay. It’s my home, after all. Why should I leave?”

The home was the price of her silence. It was worth it. I give her a nod and make my way toward the door.

“The girl you saved—the one Edward wanted—”

At the door, I tense. “Yes?” I ask.

“She okay? I heard Edward kind of beat her up. He was bragging about it.”

I look over my shoulder with a grim smile. “Are you trying to get me to reanimate his corpse so I can kill him again?”

The woman laughs. “Nah. I guess I should feel remorse or something that he’s gone, but all I am is happy. He was a bad dude, and if you hadn’t come along when you did, I’d be stuck here doing all the nasty stuff rich guys like him pay for poor people like me to do. You probably think I’m the sick one for throwing in with him.”

“No. I don’t think that at all. People do what they have to in order to survive. That’s all. Don’t judge yourself. You did what you had to do.” I take a card out of my pocket and walk back to the kitchen. “Here. If you need help, give this number a call.”

She fingers the card. “Why do I think this isn’t your number?”

“Because you’re smart. It’s my driver’s number. I’m a one-woman man, so my services are for my girl only, but I won’t leave you exposed. You did me a solid today, and I won’t forget that.”

My phone beeps, and the text from Marco tells me that the team is here to clean up. I walk to the door and let them in. Marco looks surprised to see the mistress standing in the kitchen sipping her coffee.

“She’s staying,” I tell him.

He doesn’t question it but merely directs the crew of three men inside. They’re all dressed in hazmat suits with gas masks on so that even if the woman wanted to take photos, which they will make sure she doesn’t, they wouldn’t be identifiable.

Outside, the cars are all gone including my aunt’s. There’s not a trace of blood or even a skid mark on the street. The cleanup crew did their job. As Marco and I walk down the street to our parked vehicle, I explain what happened inside, ending with the fact I handed out a protection card.

“You think she’s going to call me?” He gazes at the house with an unreadable expression. I can’t tell if he’s intrigued or pissed, but it’s interesting he used the word “me.”

“Probably. What will you say?”

The side of his mouth quirks up. “Guess we’ll see when she calls.”

AURORA

I don’t know what time Mikael slipped into bed with me. The curtains were closed, and not even a tiny bit of moonlight leaked through. It didn’t feel like morning, though. He smelled like fresh soap, and his skin was cool to the touch.

We warmed up his body quickly as he slid down between my legs and laid his tongue against my pussy. I woke right up then, and the questions I had about the business he had to take care of were forgotten as he licked me from front to back. I had a hard time even remembering my name when he scissored me open with two fingers and then ate me out like he hadn’t had food in a month.

My eyes were glazed and my body limp when he rose like an avenging angel and pierced me with his massive cock. I couldn’t stop the scream when he powered into me. That feeling of fullness of being possessed by this man drove me right over the cliff and into my second orgasm. I clutched his shoulders and rode the waves right back into sleepyland.

He’s gone when I wake. I stretch my arm out and wince at the ache between my legs. He worked me over good. His side of the bed is warm, so I glance around the room and spot him sitting in one of the chairs in front of the fireplace. Somehow, he knows that I’m awake because his head swivels around, and our eyes meet.

“Hey,” I say, feeling suddenly shy.

He hops to his feet and strides over to my side of the bed. The mattress dips when he sits. “You hungry?”
