“Just… moments ago.” The boy laughed nervously and hid his face against Abaddon’s neck. “I just got—It was so hot when you were coming, and I was shifting from excitement, and it just… yeah. I’m sorry.”

“Sorry? Are you joking?” Abaddon laughed, pulling Gabriel close as his chest felt lighter. “It’s a compliment!”

Gabriel chuckled against his skin and gave his neck a quick lick. “Okay, that’s a relief. I worried it was weird. You’re so salty, I love it.”

Has a creature more perfect ever walked the Earth? “That got you so excited? When I came straight into your mouth, with my cock deep inside you?”

Gabriel hugged him. “Yes, in that moment right before, when you tightened your grip on my head,” had he? “And all of that sticky goodness shot straight in, all because of me. That sound you made as well… when you finished. I won’t be forgetting that any time soon.”

“Sticky goodness?” Abaddon asked, overwhelmed by Gabriel’s frank words. “You talk like a porn star.”

And he fucking loved it.

Gabriel laughed. “I don’t know! How else would you call it? My book said it’s semen, but I wanted it to sound sexier.”

Abaddon chuckled, rolling his forehead against Gabriel’s so their noses were almost touching. “Most people call it cum, but it’s definitely sticky goodness,” he said, and placed his hand on the boy’s thigh.

“Okay. Cum.” Gabriel gave him a quick kiss. “I can’t believe I was so horny I didn’t even let you take me to your place.”

Abaddon deflated but took hold of the slim hand, stroking it gently. This boy deserved more than a dusty mattress in an even dustier attic. The tiniest move was enough to lock their lips, and he moaned at the taste of his seed on that pretty mouth, which at the moment felt a little swollen. “How about we go to your room after all?”

Gabriel yawned with a little frown. “You don’t want to show me your place?”

Abaddon shrugged. “It’s a little messy. And I want you to be comfortable.”

Gabriel smiled and gave him another joyful kiss. “We can go to mine if you promise to not disappear before I wake up this time”

Never, shouted Abaddon’s heart as he said, “I’ll be right beside you.”

GABRIEL

Gabriel started praying again the day after Abaddon had come to save him. He was certain no one noticed the change in his habits, but each time he awoke with inked arms around him, his heart filled with a gratitude that needed to be expressed. And so he visited the small chapel inside the orphanage each morning before work.

Everyone was still blissfully unaware that an angel lived in the building, and a greedy monster inside of Gabriel was glad that he didn’t have to share Abaddon with anyone else. He spent his days on usual chores, but the rhythm of his day changed, now ruled by secret meetings and longing for the moment Abaddon’s warm arms would close around him again.

Watson’s disappearance meant that he needed to step in and work more hours alongside the second cook, Robin, and whenever Gabriel voiced his frustration about it, Abaddon joked that being apart would help them work up an appetite for each other’s company—as if there was any need for such incentive. But protesting would have aroused suspicion, so Gabriel used the extra time in the kitchen to make treats for his lover while Abaddon continued to set up his secret lair, as Gabriel liked to call it. Sometimes, he wondered if the place even existed, but he didn’t care much, since they already had a safe space to explore pleasure, eat, watch movies, and scheme.

For someone who’d been so earnest for most of his life, Gabriel had been very preoccupied with scheming in particular.

Every meeting with Father John or Sister Beatrice made him stew in juices of unreleased anger. He now not only knew that they’d hurt him and other children, but was also aware of all the gaslighting he’d been subjected to since. It made him want to scream in their faces that the burning axe of vengeance was coming for their heads. But as much as he wanted them to fear what was coming and suffer before Abaddon got his hands on them, he remained silent, because his angel had a plan, and if Gabriel waited, all his dark desires would come true.

Sometimes though, keeping his cool was particularly arduous. In the afternoon, hours before he could next see Abaddon, his mood grew bitter, and his mind returned to the dark paths that had previously led him to leaving ladders of cuts in his flesh. As loneliness crept back in, he would start doubting his reality, and fears about the future became a pulsing ball of tar within, squeezing at his throat.

Once it had settled in, the terror would only dissolve once Abaddon slipped back into his room, and Gabriel got to hug him, smell him, taste him, once more reminded that he hadn’t gone crazy and that his angel was in fact there.
