I tilt my fresh beer toward her. “I’m good… for now.”

Her fingers run down my chest, stopping at my waistband. “Well, just let me know if you need anything… anything at all.”

“Oh, I will.”

Cindy blows me a kiss before walking away.

“God damn,” Mark says and whistles. “I got hard just watching the two of you eye fuck each other.”

“I’m going to regret this,” I preface my next statement. “But…”

Mark rubs his hands together. He already knows what I’m about to say and is loving that he’s about to win.

“You might be right,” I say.

“Might?”

“Okay, fine. You’re right. A night of sex might help clear up this funk I’m in.”

Jackson sits across the table from me, smiling as he takes in the back and forth between Mark and me.

“You always were a ladies’ man.” Mark glances back at the waitress, who is tending to other customers. “And that lady, she’s definitely into you.”

As I contemplate my options with the waitress, the door to the bar opens, and in steps a blonde goddess. The woman is fucking perfection—long blonde hair in loose curls around her shoulders, her short dress showing just enough skin but not too much. She’s sexy, but not in an overtly almost hooker way.

My eyes find her legs and follow them with each and every step as she follows the brunette she arrived with into the bar. One glance around the bar and I can see I’m not the only one watching. All eyes are on her—for good reason.

When my eyes finally gravitate to her face—she’s beautiful. Plump red lips, gorgeous smile, and familiar as if I’ve met her before.

Ran into her is more like it.

Literally.

She’s the woman from the street earlier today—the highlight of my day. She was exiting a diner and bumped into me. Her apology was sweet but unnecessary.

The moment her hand touched me, I instantly became rock solid. I accepted the apology and made myself scarce before she could notice the raging hard on her mere touch gave me.

Mark catches me staring off and follows my gaze before I can break it. A knowing smile spreads across his face as he does.

“Two for the price of one?” He quirks up an eyebrow.

Not a bad idea. “No.”

“Which one’s the lucky winner then?” Jackson chimes in. Great, that’s all I need. Two of them digging in on me.

“I don’t know how lucky they are,” Mark says.

Getting out of my chair, I give him a hard punch to the shoulder.

Looking back and forth between the women, something becomes very obvious. Cindy, she’s the girl looking for nothing more than a good time. While the blonde? She’s what forever is made of and forever is off the table for me. So, while my head is telling me to walk toward Cindy, my feet move in the direction of the blonde and don’t stop until I’m standing in the space next to her. Leaning forward, I rest my elbows on the bar.

If she can see me, she sure as hell is acting like she doesn’t notice me. Her friend, on the other hand, has definitely noticed, and she’s smiling.

“Hi, hot stuff.” The brunette greets me, her words and tone vastly different. There’s nothing flirtatious in it at all.

“Hey there,” I reply. “Can I buy you ladies a drink?”

“Oh, not me,” the friend says. “But Ember here could use another.”
