Salem quickly repeated the story of Cord and Sloane, ending with, “I do not know where he went.”
“To Tegan obviously.” Lucas’s calm voice was not what Salem wanted to hear.
“Can you trace him?” Salem asked as he looked to Garrick.
“No.”
“What?” Salem was on his feet. “Youare his Prime.”
“I am, but you may have noticed Cord is not a usual Castor.” Garrick looked to Lucas again. “If he were a typical Castor, like Jameis for example”—he ignored the look of outrage on Jameis’s face—“I could trace him without a thought. But he is Cord Ivanov. I have moments where I cannot trace him and that’s when he is in the same room with me.”
“He is that powerful?” Jasper asked curiously. “I always thought he was just a stuck-up Ivanov, and now you are saying he has a right to feel superior?” Jasper huffed out a dry laugh. “No wonder his ego is huge.”
“Yes, well, continue to think it is just his snobbery that you are dealing with. Celebrating his talent will only make him more unbearable,” Lucas advised wryly.
“I have no problem knocking him down at every opportunity.” Jasper grinned with a wink to the Dark Prime.
“Did anything else happen before he took Sloane?” Garrick asked pensively. He had been sitting quietly, deep in thought as he tried to think where his charge would be.
“Who stood nearest him?” Lucas asked.
“I think it was Jameis.” Salem looked to the Pure Castor, who nodded confirmation.
“Where was Sloane?” Garrick asked. “Was he armed?”
“Yes, Sloane had his weapons,” Salem told them both.
“Which is why he took him,” Lucas sighed. “He is with Tegan. She may have been in trouble.”
“Of course she was in trouble, she called for Cord!” Michael said in exasperation. “She would have to bedyingbefore she called for him!”
“Michael,” Salem chided him softly, his face blanching at the thought.
“Sorry.”
“You have a point though,” Bryce admitted. “Elite Sentinel Tegan would not call for him if she didn’t need him.”
“Confirmation from you is not what I need.” Salem pulled at his ear as he thought about it. “Can any of you trace Marcus?”
“No, he is an alpha.” Lucas shook his head. “Unless there are Lycans here?”
“All the Lycan Elite went with them,” Bryce told him.
“Of course.”
“You cannot find them, at all?” Michael slumped in his chair. “My sisters are out there.”
Lucas tapped his fingers against his arm as he thought. “I may know of one way.” He looked over at Garrick. “I would need your aid.”
“Of course.”
“And I need the room.” Lucas looked at Salem. “I need everyone out and complete privacy.”
“Why?” Salem asked as he looked between the two Primes.
“Castor secrets.” Lucas grinned humorously.
“Do you need me, Prime?” Jameis asked as he drew himself up.
