Trey smiled. “You, too. So, tell me what you need us to do.”
“Maybe one of you can help us. I’m going to have her go home tonight and pack.”
“I can take her home and pick her up in the morning,” Kane said.
“Good.” He looked down at her. “Is that okay?”
She nodded.
He could see the worry in her eyes. “Listen, I promise everything’s going to be all right.”
“Okay.”
“I also need one of you to bring me some clothes.”
“I can do that,” Trey said.
“I’ll make sure you have some food, so you don’t have to worry about that,” Travis said.
“Hell, I didn’t even think about that. I haven’t been there for close to two months now.”
“Why?” Anna asked.
“I was undercover before the explosion, and I didn’t want them to know where I lived, so I rented a small apartment.”
“Do you need anything picked up at the apartment?” Trey asked.
“No. I don’t want anyone to go there. I have some clothes but nothing personal. Plus, I want them to think I’m dead.”
“That’s a good idea,” Travis said. “You lived there under a different name, had a beard and long hair. So, it will be next to impossible to find you. The beard is gone because of the injuries. They had to shave you to take care of your face. Your hair is still long, but that can be cut. We have you under a different name here, and the cause of the injuries was a car accident. We’ve also had a guard watching your door twenty-four seven just in case.”
“Good. I knew you guys would take care of everything.”
“Someone had to. You were sleeping,” Trey said.
Zachary laughed, and he squeezed Anna when she tensed. “He’s kidding, honey. I also dyed my hair dark brown and wore colored contacts,” Zachary said.
Kane nodded. “That’s right. The color has grown out since you’ve been here.”
“Are all your tattoos real?” Anna asked.
“Have you seen all of them?”
He watched her blush and smiled. He’d ask her later how she knew.
“I can’t thank you guys enough. I hate that I’ve taken you away from your littles so much lately.”
“Little what?” Anna asked.
“I’ll talk about that later. Why don’t you take your shake with you and pack whatever you can? We can always go back for more.”
“Are you okay alone?” she asked.
“Yes. I’m just going to drink the shake and then sleep. Kane will bring you back in the morning.”
“Okay, if you’re sure.”
“I am. I want you to get some sleep tonight,” Zachary said.
