If it wasn’t for the shaper, she could have felt that hardness in his pants much more acutely. And, as if he realized she was aiming for more friction, Jordan wedged his leg between hers, and Hope realized she was grinding unashamedly against him and that he was helping her by pinning her ass that was cupped in his palm further into him.
When a little whimper escaped her lips, Jordan crashed his mouth back on hers, and she was filled again with his taste and the maddening feel of his tongue in her mouth. She could come right there, in a fully lit kitchen, trapped between him and that door.
But the sound of shattering glass, followed by laughter and voices approaching caused them to break their kiss, tear their lips from each other, and push themselves off the door.
Breathless, Hope ran a quick hand over her hair then over her mouth. And right before Roni and Don entered the kitchen, laughing and carrying more glasses, she managed to ensure her dress was where it should be after Jordan had hiked it up.
“Sorry, Jordan, one of your fancy glasses slipped and broke,” Don said. “Libby and Luke are sweeping it from the porch.”
“No problem,” Jordan said, running a hand through his hair. His tone and look were as if nothing had just happened.
Maybe he was used to snapping right back to normal in such situations, but Hope couldn’t. She used the opportunity to slip out of the kitchen and back out to the porch to collect her things, hoping no one would notice her. She was still breathless, and her body throbbed with need.
“Wow, it’s later than I thought, but we had to wait until Don was ready to drive,” Roni announced, returning to the porch and shoving her cell phone into her purse. “I’ve had way too much to be driving.”
They both hugged Libby and Luke and congratulated them again before they escorted them to the front door where Don and Jordan were already waiting.
In the mix of voices and goodbyes, Jordan managed to bend toward her and whisper, “Sorry about …” He gestured with his head toward the kitchen. “I shouldn’t have …”
She brought her eyes up to his. Did he regret kissing her? She had never been kissed like that before. Eric had been a decent kisser, especially at the beginning, but he had been nothing like that. She couldn’t even remember the man-wannabes whom she had kissed before him.
He held her gaze until Roni stepped between them, but didn’t say another word.
